The EDFL & AGA: Working Together For Youth Pathways

Partnership Announcement

THE EDFL is pleased to announce it has secured AGA Apprenticeships Plus as its 2021 Under 18.5 competition sponsor for 2021.

EDFL CEO Ian Kyte met with AGA GM Nicolas West last week to formalise the partnership and begin discussions around a longer-term arrangement.

“We share very similar values and philosophies around youth engagement and pathways," Kyte told essendondfl.com.au.

"Having a career and being connected to a community are critical pillars to a positive self-esteem and positive outlook on life.

"Our partnership with AGA Apprenticeships Plus has been centred around this.

"Nicolas and I both agree that this partnership can only further flourish if we continue to strategize, share ideas and put energy into this age -group.

"Participants in the Men’s & Women’s 18.5 are our future and we want our Under 18.5 competitions to be the best they can be.

"AGA’s financial support allows us to do this and put in place awards such as The EDFL Rising Star for males and females which celebrate performance and application."

AGA Apprenticeships Plus comprises of eight training centres across Victoria and view their presence in the growth corridor of the North West region of Melbourne as a major strategy to their success.

Already they work with over a thousand apprentices and hundreds of excellent host employers across dozens of industries.

Throughout the 2021 season the EDFL will be alerting its community to the AGA opportunities & pathways for men & women.

The AGA Under 18.5 competitions have gotten off to a blistering start.
