Season Preview 2021 - Oak Park

#RoadTo2021

2019 RECAP

It was a tough year for Oak Park in Division 1, only managing to win a single game and finish its campaign as the team relegated down to Strathmore Community Bank Division 2.

The Kangaroos went 1-3 in their most important games of the season against fellow Division 1 battlers Roxburgh Park and Taylors Lakes, with their only win coming in Round 12 over the Magpies.

While Oak Park's defence did perform well at times, the Roos' biggest struggles occurred up forward, ending the season as the only team in the division with less than 1000 points scored across their 16 games played.

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

There's plenty of reason for optimism at JP Fawkner Reserve following some key incoming transfers including experienced heads Travis Anderson, Blair Cronin and Bryce Crosswell, all of whom return to the Kangaroos after stints elsewhere.

It's going to be hard to predict exactly where Oak Park sits among its rivals in Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 given the long layoff and the fact it's been relegated from Division 1, but given there are few key outgoing transfers, it's fair to have the Kangaroos in the premiership conversation at this stage.

Their early season draw is somewhat kind, so expect Todd Clark's men to be prominent from the get-go.
