2019 RECAP

After being relegated out of Division 1 at the end of the 2018 season, Jacana returned to Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 in 2019 but struggled to get going with limited playing stocks.

Following a 1-6 start and only managing to defeat lowly Keilor Park, Jacana withdrew from the competition for the remainder of the season.

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

The trajectory of Jacana's 2021 campaign is probably going to look very similar to that of Keilor Park's two years ago, but even that is a huge step in the right direction.

New coach Glenn McIntyre knows very well that his club needs to play the long game as it re-enters the fray following a long recess, and with no reserves team taking the field in purple and gold this year, the Jags' small squad will have their work cut out for them.

With a couple of handy inclusions returning from its 2017 premiership team (Corey McCawley, Bryce Dodge), a sneaky win or two isn't completely out of reach, but the scoreboard and ladder isn't how we should be judging Jacana this year as it looks to re-establish itself in senior EDFL ranks.
