Season Preview 2021 - Hillside

#RoadTo2021

2019 RECAP

It was a small slide for Hillside in 2019, finishing fifth on the ladder and missing the finals for the first time since 2016 with an 8-8 record.

The Sharks collected some decent wins over finalists Westmeadows (twice) and Tullamarine during the year, but they also shot themselves in the foot against Taylors Lakes, Roxburgh Park and West Coburg in key games.

The year ended on a high, though, with Hillside sending off outgoing coach Steve Burns in style with a stirring nine-point road win over Tullamarine.

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

It may look like carnage on the outgoing transfers front, but those on the inside at Shark Park feel good about their 2021 prospects.

All of the Sharks' top four goal scorers from 2019 are now gone and three of their top five best-and-fairest voter-getters also have an asterisk next to their name listed above, including reigning B&F winner, Lachie Rayner.

With what is set to be a new-look forward line and midfield, Hillside will be hoping to get maximum output from new arrivals Zak Wunhym, Corey Wright, Hisham Kerbatieh (if available), Rusi Komaitai and Joel Bonnici in order to feature among the top four this year.
