Season Preview 2021 - East Keilor

#RoadTo2021

2019 RECAP

After promising a lot in the lead-up to Season 2019, East Keilor certainly did not disappoint with its upfront and honest new senior coach, Pat Christofi, steering the ship.

Cashing in on what was a heavy summer of strong recruiting, the Cougars were the clear standout of the home-and-away season, claiming the minor premiership with a 14-2 record and a percentage of 161.45, two games clear of second-placed Craigieburn.

However, the Eagles twice got the better of East Keilor in the finals series, going on to defeat the Cougars in the Division 1 Grand Final by 37 points.

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

It's hard to pick a starting point when assessing East Keilor's heavily bolstered list coming into 2021.

The headline acts are Collingwood premiership player Heath Shaw and former Deer Park and Maribyrnong Park star Chris Stewart, which speaks volumes when you add in the likes of Fabian Brancatisano, Lachie Calder, Brandon Coletta, Nick Grigg, Bruno Laguda, Marc Lock, Victor Micallef and Lachie Rayner.

It's unlikely all of those names will feature in the same 22 on any given Saturday but whichever way you look at it, the Cougars have to be considered the warm favourite to go all way and up into the top flight come season's end.
