The EDFL wishes to congratulate former EDFL players Sarah Wright and Amy Smith on winning the AFLW Premiership.
It was a dominant display from North Melbourne taking out a 30-point victory on Saturday night, with Wright and Smith both instrumental collecting 20 disposals each.
Wright played 15 games with Keilor in the EDFL and WRFL combined women's league in 2017 before representing the Blues a further 16 times in the NFNL.
Drafted in 2019, Wright has gone on to become one of the more reliable defenders in the competition across 61 games.
Smith played 15 games with Aberfeldie before being drafted in 2020 as the first father-daughter pick in North Melbourne history.
The EDFL was also represented in the umpiring ranks with field umpire Jordyn Pearson selected as an emergency.
Pearson has umpired 44 AFLW games including the Season 6 grand final and was this year named the AFLW Umpire Rising Star.
