As reported by Star Weekly, Gray is unlikely to play every game for the Thunder and will play for the club when time permits between his commitments with Port Adelaide where he is part of the recruitment and list management team.

However much we get to see of Gray this season, 271 games and three best and fairests for Port Adelaide will be great viewing in Strathmore Community Bank Division Two.

Keilor will farewell one of its young talents, Jovan Petric, as he makes the trip across the nullarbor to join Swan Districts in the WAFL.

Petric has spent most of his life on the Blues list, including being a key contributor in the club’s past three deciders, most notably scoring four majors in the side’s 2024 premiership win.

He’ll take high-level experience to the WAFL side, with time in the Talent League, National Championships, and 30 VFL games for Williamstown under his belt.

Muhammad Saad has finally had approval to return to the EDFL playing lists after spending a season at Newport.

Saad will return to his home club of West Coburg where he kicked 45 goals in season 2024, leading the Burgers to a spot in the big dance that same season.

Andrew Vavra has had a transfer lodged which would see him say goodbye to Strathmore after seven years and travel over to Joe Brown Oval to join Keilor for the upcoming season.

The premiership ruck featured in 14 senior matches for the Mores in 2025, slotting five goals throughout, featuring on the best-on list four times.

Deer Park is set to lose Josh Chatfield, as he files paperwork to travel to Tooleybuc Manangatang Football Club, located nearly 400km from his EDFL home, up on the Murray River.

At just 25 years of age, Chatfield departs with significant talent and experience gained with Footscray’s VFL side and the GWV Rebels in the Talent League.

It’s set to be a big move for the boy from Ballarat who played 14 games for the Lions last season, with one of his season highlights be scoring five goals against Keilor in Round 10.

There's movement out of Nipper Jordan Oval with Julian Callegari and Ben Mazziol both looking for a change of scenery in 2026.

Callegari looks to be bound for Wodonga after two years at the Stars, with the key player starring in 28 games of the past two years, with 15 best-on listings written next to his name across 2024 and 2025.

Mazziol will move over to Sunshine following a 16-game season at the Stars across senior and reserve levels.

Goal kicking spearhead Harry Ryan has had his paperwork declined to make a return to EDFL footy with Aberfeldie.

The young gun slotted 38 goals from just 14 games for Kyneton in the RDFNL last year.

He also featured in two senior level and two reserve matches for Strathmore in the first five weeks of the season.

St Albans' Bill Sam is alongside many from Keilor who will look to suit up in the Donald jumper for season 2026, joining the NCFL.

February 3

Maribyrnong Park continues to be the team to watch in the women's space with inaugural AFLW player Ellyse Gamble bound for the Lions.

Gamble played 63 games across 10 seasons with Essendon and the Western Bulldogs, playing primarily as a defender, and will be another huge addition at Monk Oval.

Moonee Valley moved to secure Noah Smallacombe on Tuesday, the Fog's most recently announced signing.

Smallacombe joins the contingent of ex-Strathmore talents at Ormond Park, with talented youth looking to hold the club in good stead for the short and long term.

Sunbury Kangaroos continue to go about their business in adding talent across both programs.

The club has made three women's transfers in the last couple of days, Roxburgh Park pair Kristy Turner and Jordan Di Mizio the latest.

Huggard has been at the two blues for the majority of her career, and will be a major addition to the Kangaroos lineup.

Avondale Heights continue to add senior experience external to the EDFL, Sam Woods (Charlton) and Daniel Taberner (East Brighton) the latest.

Transfers re-opened on Sunday with some big moves kicking things off, Sarah Wright's return to the EDFL alongside sister Gemma at Westmeadows perhaps the biggest.

Wright played 61 AFLW games for North Melbourne after being drafted out of Keilor, her last game a premiership win in which Wright was among the best on ground.

Despite not featuring in 2025, Wright will be a major addition to a Tigers side that tasted finals footy last season.

There's more AFLW talent entering the EDFL with former Geelong Cat Caitlin Thorne looking to get to Strathmore.

Thorne played 11 games over two seasons with the Cats and will be a huge asset to the recently promoted Mores when available.

Two-time VFL premiership player Anthony Anastasio was announced as Deer Park's new signing on December 5, as the Lions now move to secure the transfer.

A playing-assistant coach for the Lions in 2026, the crafty small forward played 197 VFL and VFL development games and announced his retirement after an ACL injury interrupted his 2025 season.

Essendon Doutta Stars have moved to secure two young guns with Talent League experience in Jade Cilia and Isla Iannacone.

The pair played at Williamstown CYMS in 2025 and were Western Jets teammates in 2023, adding to the young core of Douttas.

Taylors Lakes also got active on Sunday lodging three women's and three men's transfers.

Kate Parkinson comes across from Moreton Bay, with Tulla pair Laycee Eustace and Alexcia Talia on the move as well.
