AIDAN Stott will remain in charge of the Bears as they look for a second successive Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 finals berth.

After making massive improvements in 2019, the Bears were expected to be among the contenders this year, before the competition was cancelled.

Stott (pictured during last year's preliminary final) has been in charge since mid-2016.

The Bears have started to put together their playing group for next season and have announced a number of players who have re-signed, headlined by spearhead Josh Covelli.

They’ve also announced their first signings for next season, with St Albans duo Jake Galea and Jarrod Tuppen heading for Tenterfield Drive.

Galea, who started at Melton Centrals, pushed into St Albans senior side in the past couple of years.

Tuppen, a key defender/ruckman, was named in the Western Region Football League Division 1 Team of the Year.

CHARLES Cuzzupi has re-signed for two more years as the Lions look to build a strong squad and rise up the Strathmore Community Bank Division 1 ladder.

Cuzzupi, who was set to coach the Lions for the first time this year, had previously been involved with Avondale Heights.

As well as securing their coach for next season, the Lions’ two biggest recruits have also re-committed.

Forward Patrick Rose and former AFL player Scott Harding will be on-board in a big boost for the young Lions.

THE Sharks have announced their first new signing for next season, with Keilor premiership player Zac Wunhym joining the club.

Wunhym, who played with the Calder Cannons previously, adds some more Premier Division level experience to the side.

He has battled injuries, restricting him to just 10 games with the Blues last season.

Having previously announced Charlie Denaro as its senior coach, the club has now confirmed its reserves and U18.5 coaches.

Shaun Thompson will again coach the reserves and Cole Harvey will coach the U18.5s.
