Football activity to return from tomorrow

In line with the announcements made by the Victorian Government today, a range of restrictions will ease across the state from 11.59pm on Tuesday 27 July. All community football activity, training and Auskick can resume, with certain government restrictions in place.

A summary of key changes for community football based on the Victorian Government’s updated Table of Restrictions include;

-Open for all ages, training and competition. Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies

-Limited to minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity (i.e. players, coaches)

-Travel restrictions lifted

-Spectators not allowed (excludes people necessary for events such as teachers, instructors, trainers, coaches, umpires, carers, parents and guardians)

The EDFL and AFL Victoria is continuing to work closely with the Victorian Government and will provide leagues and clubs with as much information as possible.

Clubs should prepare to play for this weekend's competition as the league determines how the remainder of the season will look.

Clubs and key stakeholders will be updated with any additional information regarding restrictions and return to play protocols for community football, when available.
