FORMER Calder Cannons talent manager Ian Kyte has been announced as the EDFL's new interim Chief Executive Officer.
Kyte is set to fill the vacancy as of Thursday, February 27 after last week's announcement of current CEO Craig Armstead's upcoming departure from the role.
League Chairman Bernie Shinners this afternoon published the following to all EDFL clubs and key stakeholders:
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Kyte as the EDFL’s Interim Chief Executive Officer for the 2020 Season.
Ian has a well-established and extensive history in football, most notably his 26-year stint in the TAC Cup/NAB League system with the Sandringham Dragons and Calder Cannons.
As a well-respected football administrator and local figure, Ian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, not in only football, but in football in the North West region of Melbourne.
Ian will serve to build on the solid structure and team established by Craig Armstead, which will begin with an agreed handover program between now and Craig's finish date (February 26).
Season 2020 is set to be the EDFL’s biggest yet as we get set to celebrate our 90-year anniversary.
With anticipated growth set to occur, particularly through our senior women’s football and netball competitions, we look forward to delivering another successful season.
