Round 2 of the Premier Division kicks off with Aberfeldie hosting Keilor at Aberfeldie Park.
Both teams will go into this game looking for their first win of the season after losing their opening games last week.
Aberfeldie lost the grand final rematch against Oak Park by 25 points and will hoping to bounce back this weekend.
While Aberfeldie were able to match Oak Park for large parts of the game, Oak Park was simply too strong in the end.
Keilor were beaten by 71 points in their first game of the season against Hillside.
With a solitary goal to Madeline Barton and four behinds their only scores during the four quarters, they will be hoping for a strong comeback this week.
Hillside and Westmeadows will face off at Hillside Recreation Reserve.
Hillside currently sit top of the division after their 71-point win over Keilor sent a strong message to the other clubs that Hillside will be a much-improved side this season pushing for higher honours.
Westmeadows on the other hand are coming off a 27-point loss to Moonee Valley at home.
The Tigers will be looking to put that behind them and cause an upset against Hillside who finished just four points above them last season.
The newly promoted Essendon Doutta Stars will take on reigning premiers Oak Park at Nipper Jordan Oval.
Douttas will take great confidence that they belong in Premier Division from their 54-point win over Marby last weekend.
Aleesha Hobbs booted three goals and Jessie Hulett scored two in what was a dominant win.
Oak Park remain the team to beat after winning the grand final rematch against Aberfeldie by 25 points.
The Oakers, while going into the game as favourites, won’t have an easy task on their hands as they look to beat an unfamiliar opponent.
Maribyrnong Park and Moonee Valley will close out the round's action at Walsh Oval.
Marby Park will be looking to rebound from their 54-point first round loss and get their season started.
Despite going into the game as underdogs, Marby Park will take confidence from the last outing these two teams had where the Lions defeated Moonee Valley by 17 points.
The Fog, meanwhile, will be looking to build off an impressive start to the season last week.
After the Valley trailed by a point at quarter time last week, they limited Westmeadows to just one goal for the next three quarters and won by a comfortable margin of 27 points.
Keilor Park and Greenvale will both be looking to get their seasons on track at Keilor Park Recreation Reserve after both suffering first round losses.
Keilor Park lost their first game since reintroducing their women’s program last week by 56 points. They will be hoping for a more compelling performance this week against last year’s minor premiers.
Greenvale will be seeking to rebound after a disappointing loss to last season’s preliminary finalists Burnside Heights by 48 points.
Greenvale will need to play more like their 2023 selves if they are to prove they are still a side that will be making an impact deep into the season.
Burnside Heights and Tullamarine will battle it out at Burnside Heights Recreation Reserve.
The Bears are coming off a strong 48-point win against last year’s runners-up Greenvale.
Their dominant performance last week combined with their results from last year will make them the early premiership favourite and the team to beat.
Tullamarine are also coming off a win from last week after they beat a Strathmore/Pascoe Vale combined team by 37 points.
Tulla only won two games last year and will be full of confidence believing they can equal that record two games into this season.
Strathmore/Pascoe Vale will face off against top-of-the-table Airport West in the last match of Division 1 action.
Strathmore/Pascoe Vale lost their opening match by 37 points in what was their first game as a combined team.
They will be looking to continue to build as the team and players get used to the new combined setup.
Airport West are coming off a big 56-point win over Keilor Park and will be looking to consolidate top spot with another strong performance.
Roxburgh Park and Sunbury Lions kick off Round 2 action on Friday night at Lakeside Oval.
Roxburgh Park won their first game of the season last week, defeating Glenroy by 15 points.
Sunbury Lions will go into Friday night's game full of confidence after beating local rivals Sunbury Kangaroos by 47 points.
Natachia Abela scored five goals and will be a player to watch in this week’s game.
Coburg Districts and Glenroy will face off against each other for the first time at Cole Reserve.
Coburg Districts will be playing their first game of the season due to a bye last week.
Despite a good season last year seeing them finish third, the Districts will face new challenges this season as there is only one other familiar team in Division Two again this year.
Glenroy are coming off a hard fought 15-point loss to Roxburgh Park in what was their first ever women’s match and will be hoping for their first win against their local rivals.
A local rivalry between Sunbury Kangaroos and East Sunbury will finish Division Two action at Eric Boardman Reserve.
The Kangaroos will need to rebound from a 47-point loss to their cross-town rivals the Sunbury Lions.
They will be confident however, that their season can be put back on track this weekend in another local rivalry.
East Sunbury suffered a 102-point loss to Taylors Lakes last week in what was both teams' inaugural women’s match.
While they will enter this weekend as underdogs, they'll be keen to cause an upset with plenty of familiar faces from the opposition
