Aberfeldie delivered a striking performance against Essendon Doutta Stars in a 29-point victory at Nipper Jordan Oval.
From the opening quarter, it was Aberfeldie who were in control and dominant across the field. Their defence had left the Stars goalless until the second half.
Douttas kept pushing late with a goal in the last quarter, but it was too late to overpower Aberfeldie who were firing on all fronts, right up until the final siren where they ran away with the win.
Moana Hope was most influential on the field with five goals going a long way in helping the side earn their fifth consecutive win.
While the win wasn't what the Stars were hoping for, Camryn Bux and Stephanie Mitchell provided some scoreboard relief during the game.
Next week, Aberfeldie will be preparing for their Round 13 clash with Keilor at Joe Brown Oval, while the Stars are set for a test coming up against Oak Park at JP Fawkner Reserve.

AVONDALE HEIGHTS 14.9 (93) def. TAYLORS LAKES 14.8 (92)
MATCH CENTRE
Avondale Heights has claimed victory over Taylors Lakes in one of the all-time great matches of Strathmore Community Bank Division One football.
In what was a brilliant, back-and-forth game of footy, the Heights were able to come out on top in arguably their most memorable win of recent times.
With the scores level and just under 30 seconds to go, Avondale launched a long and dangerous entry inside forward 50, and it was young gun Ben Powell who successfully knocked the ball over the line to take the lead.
When the final siren echoed out and over Canning Reserve, almost every player fell to the ground or to their knees in exhaustion.
The Lions charged out of their cages and bounded away to a five-goal lead at quarter time, before the Heights rallied and pegged the deficit back to just seven points at the main break.
The match was poised for a mouth-watering second half.
Taylors Lakes maintained their seven-point lead in an exciting and fiery third quarter, and took it into the final quarter as the game lay in the balance.
An epic last quarter of football was anticipated, and both sides did not disappoint.
In a ruthless and passionate last quarter, the Heights were able to pip the Lions and collect the four points.
The win sees Avondale hold their position in second on the ladder and push a game clear of Hillside and Taylors lakes in third and fourth.
Vice-captain Jackson Robb was extraordinary. He accumulated the footy and snagged four goals in a clear best-on-ground performance. Youngster Jesse Lafauci was also among their best with two critical goals.
Taylors Lakes will be bitterly disappointed after letting this one slip.
After jumping the gun and flying out to a seven-goal-to-two opening quarter, they failed to take home the four points.
Nonetheless, to put up a performance like that on the road demonstrates not only the talent of the side, but also the heart of these Lions.
After a brilliant last six weeks of footy, if they can maintain this standard of play, they will deserve a chance to feature in post-season action.
Danny Younan and Damien Petrone did the damage on the scoreboard for the Lions, with Younan kicking a bag of five goals and Petrone chipping in with three.
Avondale Heights will look to continue with their winning ways when they travel to Ormond Park to take on Moonee Valley. Meanwhile, Taylors Lakes will get a chance to bounce back when they host Craigieburn.

ST ALBANS 8.10 (58) def. by HILLSIDE 17.13 (115)
MATCH CENTRE
Hillside has torn apart Kings Park Reserve with a 57-point domination of St Albans.
After three quarters of tough and physical football, it was the Sharks who smelt blood and drew away from the Saints to claim a 10-goal victory.
A tightly contested and even first half saw the Sharks take a slender six-point lead into the main break, after a late goal in the quarter.
With a similar story unfolding in the third as neither side looked like folding, an epic final term was brewing.
Yet, it wasn’t to be, as the Sharks flexed their muscles to produce seven unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to swim away from Kings Parks with the four points.
Vice-captain Josh Covelli was sensational as he took home a sack of eight goals, and extended his lead in the competition’s goal-kicking leaderboard out to a whopping 24 goals.
Covelli has kicked 55 goals in 11 games and is on track to have another monstrous goal-kicking season.
Meanwhile for St Albans, they were disappointing in what was a big test for this side.
After two wins a row, a return back to their best footy was gradually building up, but has been all but abolished here.
A significant final quarter fade-out against one of the competition’s top sides in Hillside suggests that there is still a mountain of work to be done.
Tom Eckel was among the Saints' best and impressed again with ball in hand.
Hillside travel again to take on Tullamarine at Leo Dineen Reserve next week, while its gets no easier for St Albans when they make the journey to Shore Reserve to take on West Coburg.
OAK PARK 12.12 (84) def. TULLAMARINE 8.8 (56)
MATCH CENTRE
Ladder leaders Oak Park have put away a gritty Tullamarine in a 28-point win at JP Fawkner Reserve.
Tullamarine brought the heat early and kicked four goals straight in the first quarter to take a four-point lead into quarter time.
In similar fashion, another quarter of even footy saw the two sides locked in a deadlock at the main break, with the scoreboard reading 38-38.
The tables began to turn in the second half as Oak Park flexed its muscles.
When called upon, the Kangaroos were able to find some of their best footy and surge clear late with six goals to two in the second half.
While it’s certainly not the win that Oak Park would have been hoping for, their ability to collect the four points while only playing patches of good footy is a positive takeaway.
The win sees them collect their tenth win for the season, as they sit pretty on top of the ladder and two games clear of Avondale Heights and West Coburg in pursuit.
Paul Pascu and Josh Hotchkin were among the best for the Kangaroos, while Jake Bushell and Anthony Delorenzi slotted through three goals each.
On the other end of the ledger, it’s now nine losses from 12 games in 2025 for Tullamarine, who again produced another ‘what if’ performance with superb but limited patches of footy.
They are struggling down in the depths of ninth position, and will need to find a major shift in form if they are to salvage what’s left of their season.
Star forward Shaun McKernan kicked another bag of five goals as he continues to impress in his first season back at the Dees.
Oak Park faces the bottom-of-the-ladder Roxburgh Park next week as they look to continue with their winning form, while it’s another tough challenge for Tullamarine when they host Hillside.
ROXBURGH PARK 9.8 (62) def. by WEST COBURG 13.14 (92)
MATCH CENTRE
West Coburg has bounced back from their loss to Hillside with a 30-point win over Roxburgh Park.
The Burgers looked to be in cruise control early, but were made to earn this one as Roxy brought intensity and sustained pressure around the footy.
After a largely even half which saw the Burgers take a slim eight-point lead into the main break, Roxy were right in the contest.
They were dismantled by Craigieburn last week and many were perhaps expecting a similar result here, yet the performance they produced was full of merit and brimming with positives.
While West Coburg lifted and ran away as five-goal winners, Roxburgh Park certainly matched it with them for the majority of the contest.
Cooper McPharlane booted through a bag of five goals for Roxy, while Zein Omar was also a strong contributor on the day.
Despite the win, West Coburg fans are perhaps scratching their heads at the moment after their sides past few performances.
They’d been convincingly beaten by Avondale Heights and Hillside prior to the weekend, and only just claimed victory here against a side facing relegation.
However, four points is four points, and the Burgers still sit at equal second on the ladder after this one.
Their 13 goals came through nine individual goal kickers, and Liam Bowkett was the Burgers best.
The return of Ibby Taha and Omar Saad to their forward line would certainly be a welcome sight, both kicking two majors.
West Coburg will host St Albans next week, while Roxburgh Park will host ladder-leader Oak Park.
MOONEE VALLEY 6.5 (41) def. by CRAIGIEBURN 13.9 (87)
MATCH CENTRE
Craigieburn has kept its finals hopes alive with a 46-point road victory over Moonee Valley.
The Eagles were dominant from start to finish and never looked like losing as they cruised past a lacklustre Moonee Valley outfit to record their second win in a row.
A five-goal-to-nil opening quarter cast an ominous sign over Ormond Park for the home crowd, and this only got worse as the Eagles continued to pile on the goals.
The visitors had a lead of 65 points at the final break in play, and went on to collect the four points and keep their season alive with a pivotal win.
With this win, the Eagles move back into seventh position and sit two games and percentage outside of the top five.
Yet in arguably the most competitive division of men’s EDFL football, they cannot be written off.
Young gun Harry Albon was back to his best with four goals, while Nathan Stewart was also a very solid contributor.
Meanwhile, Moonee Valley failed to fire any punches, and the loss sees them fall back down into eighth position on the ladder.
After a brilliant four weeks of football which culminated in three wins from four games, they’ve lost their past two and are watching their season slip away.
They were convincingly beaten around the ground for the entire day, and failed to put any scoreboard pressure back onto the Eagles.
James Kefalas toiled away hard in what was a tough day for the Fog.
Moonee Valley will have to pull out all the stops when they host Avondale Heights next week, while Craigieburn will take their momentum to Lionheart Reserve to take on Taylors Lakes.
