The EDFL wishes to congratulate three former EDFL umpires on their elevation to the AFL umpires list for 2025.
Jack Howard (Field), Anthony Laughton (Boundary), and Luke Monea (Goal) were among 10 additions to the AFL umpiring cohort for season 2025.
Howard was elevated to the AFL field umpire list after umpiring consecutive VFL Grand Finals in 2023 and 2024.
Laughton showed strong form in the VFL, also umpiring the 2023 and 2024 Grand Finals.
Monea was one of two goal umpires to earn promotion after three consecutive VFL Grand Finals in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
"Dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment have led to some incredible achievements for the EDFL’s finest," said the EDFL Umpires Association.
"With representation across all umpiring disciplines, these three standouts continue the EDFL’s legacy of producing top-tier talent now on the biggest stage.
"The AFL is lucky to have you, and we can’t wait to see you all rise and shine in the years ahead!"
