EDFL to Tackle Mental Health with the Love Me Love You Foundation

New Partnership Announcement

The Essendon District Football League is proud to be partnering with the Love Me Love You Foundation as the League strives to support its clubs tackling the challenges of mental health.

Love Me Love You is a national not for profit mental health foundation who have extensive experience in advising and educating Sports Clubs and Association on how to best support their staff and volunteers to support their players, members and supporters.

“The EDFL are excited to be partnering with the Love Me Love You Foundation," said EDFL Chief Executive Ian Kyte.

"By partnering with Love Me Love You, the EDFL aim to help educate and support its clubs when addressing mental health challenges.

"We look forward to working with all at Love Me Love You and to join them in their initiatives to assist clubs on how to best support their staff, volunteers, members and players."

Love Me Love You was founded in 2013 by former first round draft pick and AFL footballer, Lance Picioane.

"The aim of this partnership is to provide a more inclusive and supporting mental health journey for all players and members of the EDFL," Picioane said.

The EDFL aims to empower volunteers within its clubs to be able to address and understand ways they can proactively address mental health within their individual club environment.

In conjunction with Love Me Love You, training sessions will be facilitated to provide clubs with resources to guide their responses to mental health support of participants within their community.
