EDFL Rising Stars Ready For NAB League Season

Season Commences April 2nd

38 of the EDFL's most promising juniors have been selected in the Calder Cannons and Western Jets programs ahead of the 2022 NAB League Boys season.

Announced earlier this week, there will be 29 EDFL players in the Cannons setup for 2022 and 9 EDFL representatives at the Jets.

Oak Park's Paul Pascu has been named captain of the Cannons and presents as one of the best draft prospects just months after fellow Kangaroos' junior Zac Taylor was drafted by the Adelaide Crows.

Essendon father-son hopefuls, Luca Alessio (Strathmore) and Josh Misiti (Aberfeldie) are just a number of famous names selected in the Calder squad.

Dane Whitnall has also been named after playing senior football for Craigieburn last season under his father, Lance.

Whitnall and Misiti will serve as vice-captains alongside Strathmore's Matthew Foley.

Oskar Balta (Essendon Doutta Stars) will line-up for the Cannons as well this season, with older brother Noah drafted out of Douttas in 2017 with pick 25 in the national draft.

Amin Naim (Strathmore) and Mahmoud Taha (Pascoe Vale) are Next Generation Academy inductees at Essendon.

Calder and Western will kick-off their seasons at Highgate Reserve this weekend.

The Cannons will host the GWS Giants at 11;45am on Saturday and the Jets will be facing off against the Brisbane Lions Academy at 12pm on Sunday.
