The Essendon District Football League is saddened to hear of the passing of Life Member, John 'Ricketts' Falcke.
A stalwart of the Keilor Football Club, John had been recognised for his service and efforts to both Keilor and the wider EDFL community as a life member of each organisation.
The Keilor Football Club life members volunteer award is also named in his honour.
Keilor shared the following tribute on its Facebook page earlier today.
"Ricketts, as he was affectionately known, was someone who played a significant role in the club behind the scenes over many decades," it said.
"He made the role of Property Steward his own, ensuring that every Keilor side was ready and able to perform at the best possible requirements.
"No task was ever too big or too small for him to undertake, particularly on match-day for our Senior teams.
"It was as though he had every key that opened, what seemed, every single door in Keilor - hence how the nickname Ricketts came about.
"A gentle man who was fiercely loyal to everything Keilor and his family."
The EDFL would like to send its condolences to the Falcke family, the Keilor Football Club and anyone who was touched by John's life.
