Mores Prove Their Strength

Strathmore's reign at the top of the Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division ladder continues as Matthew Horne's side delivered a reality check to Avondale Heights.

The Mores led at each of the breaks, with a six-goal-to-one opening term setting the tone in the 52-point win.

Athan Tsialtas spearheaded the Strathmore forward line, kicking four goals in his return from a taste of VFL football with Coburg.

Liam Cavanagh didn't miss a beat after the three-week break, being named best-on-ground for the Mores for the second time this year.

As for Avondale Heights, Aaron Gundry performed well in the ruck against big man Floyd Bollinghaus.

Panthers Bounce Back

Pascoe Vale are back inside the Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division top four after an impressive 34-point win over Greenvale.

After leading by 25 points at the main break, the Panthers kick away in the third, scoring five goals to two to ice the game.

Matthew Watson's four-goal haul keeps his distance at the top of the division's goal kicking ladder at nine while Liam Forbes and Aaron Hilton kicked two goals a piece for Digby Morrell's team.

Lachlan Hall was one of Darren Bewick's best players in just the second senior game of his career.

Tulla Storm Home

Roxburgh Park almost caused a massive upset at Leo Dineen Reserve on the weekend, however a late Tullamarine surge assured Dave Connell's side went home with the four points.

Leading by 23 points at three-quarter time, the Magpies were unable to hold on as the Demons piled on eight unanswered goals to run out 26-point winners at the final siren.

Brad Allen finished the day with four goals, while Anthony Prestia again proved a scoring avenue from midfield, snagging the three goals himself.

Raaf Rachrache and Michael Farrelly returned to the Magpies line-up to kick three goals between them, while Travis Cooke put in another solid performance this season to be named among the bests.

Cougars Winners Back At Home

East Keilor made a statement in their return to Overland Reserve, coming from behind the defeat West Coburg by seven points.

After trailing at every break in the game, Pat Christofi's side found a little extra in the final quarter to sneak home against one of its main Strathmore Community Bank Division One contenders.

The combination of Cougars' ruckman Chris Stewart and midfielder Victor Micallef was a treat to watch as the game see-sawed throughout the day.

Daniel Johncock did all he could to keep the Burgers in the contest, kicking a goal amongst his flurry of important touches, while Lynden Dunn stood tall to kick four goals, a few of those when opposed to Heath Shaw.

East Keilor have held top spot on the Strathmore Community Bank Division One ladder since Round 4.

Saints Secure Crucial Win

The Northern Saints have kept the finals door wide open with a spirit lifting eight-point win over Keilor Park on Saturday.

The Saints were able to keep the Devils at bay for most of the day leading by 16 points at quarter time, 10 points at half time and 15 points at three-quarter-time.

Fabian Pennelli was the star for Peter Lohmer's side, kicking six goals, while Saints' leading goal kicker Nick Bruno chimed in with three.

For the Devils, Luke Furci and Dimitrios Guicas also combined for nine goals but the Northern Saints' spread proved too strong.

The win for the Saints leaves four sides locked with three wins on the Strathmore Community Bank Division Two ladder.

Fog Take Care Of Challengers

Moonee Valley's undefeated run in Strathmore Community Bank Division Two continued on Saturday when Shanon Carroll's team defeated Hadfield to the tune of 98 points. 

The big win was on early as the Fog kicked seven goals to two in the opening term, opening up a 41-point lead by the major break.

An unanswered seven-goal final term by the ladder leaders was the final nail in the coffin for the third-placed Hawks.

Braden Padmore starred once again with an eight-goal haul while Gabriel Clements impressed with three goals of his own.

Sharks Back On Top

Hillside has reclaimed top spot on the Airport Toyota Women's Premier Division ladder after defeating Keilor by 13 points on Saturday.

The top-of-the-table clash started slowly under lights at Hillside Reserve with both teams just managing a few points at the quarter-time break. 

However the goals started flowing soon after as the Sharks edged out the previously undefeated Blues with 14 scoring shots to six.

The division's leading goal kickers, Emily Paterno and Kaitlyn O'Keefe, found the big sticks with three and two goals respectively.

Taylor Mesiti was named best-on-ground for Justin Fairservice's team.

Lions Win Again

The Sunbury Lions made it three wins on the trot in their new division when they took the win against Gisborne on Friday night.

With the Bulldogs still aspiring towards a finals berth, they were set to be the Lions' most challenging opponent thus far in Airport Toyota Women's Division One.

However, in challenging conditions, Jason Peak's side were kept to just the six behinds.

Krystie Dudley, Alisa Magri, India McNeill-Wren and Felicity Theodore all provided a goal each in the win, while Renee McMahon was amongst the best players for Daniel Brady.

Kangaroos Hopping In New Division

The Sunbury Kangaroos have secured back-to-back wins in Airport Toyota Women's Division Two, this time knocking off Burnside Heights 2 by 40 points.

The Kangaroos lead by two straight kicks at the half time break but a dominate yet wayward second half saw Ron Sikora's side kick 3.11 to just the one behind.

Carly Blythe and Georgia Marinier contributed with two goals each, while Elisha Green also kicked a goal in her best-on-ground performance.

The win sees the Kangaroos knocking on the door of the Division Two top four with Coburg Districts and Maribyrnong Park 2 also sitting on two wins in third and fourth spot.
