Nothing could separate local rivals Avondale Heights and Maribyrnong Park at the final siren with both teams having to settle for a draw at Canning Reserve.

After failing to register a goal in the opening term, Avondale Heights trailed at every break with the Lions opening up at 29-point lead heading into the final quarter.

However the Heights settled to kick 6.1 to 1.2 in the final term, with Zain Yamak levelling the scores from a reversed free kick with just seconds to go.

Ultimately it was accuracy that took its toll on the Heights with Patrick Byrne's side converting at 9.13 to Maribyrnong's 10.7.

Matthew Hatfield was the Lion's sole multiple goal scorer with two, while Jacob Cutri, Danko Bzenic and match-leveller Zain Yamak also scoring two a piece for their side.

Connor Byrne returned from VFL duties as one of Avondale's best contributors and Brodie Romensky continued his strong form this season for Brad Swain's team.

Roxburgh Park has claimed its most impressive win of the season, and arguably their entire Strathmore Community Bank Division One campaign, with a 38-point romping of West Coburg.

Brock Heathcote played his best game of the season to snag four goals, while Raaf Rachrache matched his effort with four goals as well.

Jack Elliot played a crucial role for the Magpies through the ruck and Hayden Farrelly was able to keep the dangerous Lynden Dunn to just the two majors.

Airport West has staked its claim as a serious Division One contender after a nail biting two-point win over Tullamarine.

Coming back from the mid-season break the Eagles had a point to prove, a fortnight ago they knocked off West Coburg and now the Demons by a single digit margin.

Airport West struck first in the final quarter only for Oliver Klemm to get the Demons back within a kick with less than five minutes to go.

Upsets Run Wild In Premier Division

Airport Toyota Women's Premier Division was turned on its head over the weekend with not one, nor two, but three significant wins played on Saturday.

Of the four games played over Round 10, three of the round's victors came from lower on the ladder than their unsuccessful opposition.

Burnside Heights pulled off the biggest of the three coups taking down second-placed Hillside for the Bears' second win of season 2021.

With inaccuracy plaguing both sides, the Sharks took a slender four-point lead into the final term.

But the last 20 minutes saw the Bears put on an unanswered six goals to run away 34-point winners.

Chloe Portelli kicked three goals in the win while Maggie Katiforis was one of the bests for the home side.

Elsewhere, Oak Park leapfrogged Maribyrnong Park into fourth with a comprehensive 68-point win.

The Kangaroos led at every break to send themselves into the Premier Division top four.

Iesha Atik and Samantha German starred for the Roos combining for 12 goals in the win.

And finally, under lights at Willowbrook Reserve, Essendon Doutta Stars kept in touching distance of the top four with a four-point win over Westmeadows.

Marby Knock Off In-Form Fog

Maribyrnong Park have caused one of the upsets of the round with another one-point margin raising eyebrows around the Airport Toyota Women's competition.

Moonee Valley had been sporting a six-game win streak before it headed to Walsh Oval on Saturday.

The Lions took an early lead with the margin sitting at six points at the first break before the Fog flipped the margin to lead by the same amount at half time.

However the more accurate Lions steadied in the second half, kicking 3.0 to 1.5 to sneak home by just the single point.

The Division's leading goal kicker, Charlotte Clayton, contributed six for the losers but it was Chloe Baldasso who stole the show for the home side, kicking three goals as the best player on the ground.

The win sees Maribyrnong Park go two games clear inside the top four, with Moonee Valley now locked at 7-3 with Westmeadows in the top two.
