Keilor Dig Deep To Keep Streak Alive

MICK McGuane's men were tested once again on the weekend, but like many times before, they found a way to win.

Without the likes of Dean Galea, David Isbister and Brad Xavier, Keilor jumped out of the blocks to lead by 41 points at half time.

However, a stirring seven-goal third term by Pascoe Vale saw the game in the balance with a quarter to play.

With injuries building on the bench, the Blues were able to steady late via Andrew Browne and Luke Cartelli to hold on for a five-point victory.

Keilor's winning streak now stands at 23.

TULLAMARINE has turned Strathmore Community Bank Division One on its head after a gusty 16-point win over East Keilor.

Late into the first quarter the Demons were down to two on the bench after injuries to Jacob Osei-Duro and Dom Micallef as the Cougars threatened to kick away.

But wayward kicking at goal from Pat Christofi's side gave Tullamarine just the sniff they needed as they headed into the main break 13 points down.

In the second half, Cooper Perry got lively for the Demons kicking four goals for the game while Dean Limbach returned after a week off to kick five.

However, it was the back-half heroics of Shannon Bennett that saw the reliable defender receive the Nena and Pasadena Player of the Match honours.

THE Sunbury Kangaroos have back-to-back wins in Strathmore Community Bank Division One after their nail-biting three-point win over local rivals Rupertswood.

In a low-scoring game, the Roos got the jump kicking five goals to one in the first quarter before Rupo were able to slowly claw back the game to lead by five points at the final break.

The scoreboard see-sawed ever so slightly in the last term before Mitchell Streiff's almighty launch from beyond the arc put the Roos in front for good.

The win sees Sunbury hold their spot inside the top four of the Strathmore Community Bank Division One ladder, while Rupertswood is still searching for their first win at 0-3

There is a clear favourite in Aiport Toyota Women's - Division Two and it's the Sunbury Lions.

The Lions have been unopposed so far this season and it was no different come Saturday when they defeated Burnside Heights 139-0.
