EDFL Establishes Coaches Association for 2022

Led by Darren Flanigan and Martin Allison


The EDFL has established a coaches association as the League strives to provide continued support and development to clubs and its mentors.

The association has been created with the understanding of the commitment and time that is required to execute the important role a coach plays at a local football level.

The aim of the association is to inform and upskill community coaching staff by way of information disseminationleague based workshops, inclub in-servicing, monitoring and mentoring of coaches and specialist coaching academies.

EDFL Community Club Support Manager Darren Flanigan and former Victorian Metro coach Martin Allison will be heading up the association, with their vast experience in football development unquestionable.

Areas of focus for the association will include; the role of the club coaching coordinator, educating junior coaches and developing female coaching.  

A Coach Development Portal has been created on the league's website where a number of highly valuable resources will be posted and updated throughout the year.
