EAST Sunbury sports leaders say they cannot wait for a $4 million transformation of John McMahon Recreation Reserve to begin.
Hume councillors approved the $4.12 million future masterplan for the reserve at their ordinary council meeting on Monday.
Major items in the masterplan include $1 million for second oval and $1.12 million for new change rooms nearby.
New netball courts, an $800,000-playground and a walking path and fitness stations will also be built at the reserve, at 155 Lancefield Rd.
East Sunbury Sporting Group president Sarah Johnston said she “could not be more happier” about the outcome.
