AFL Umpires set to hit Windy Hill

AFL Community Umpiring Round This Weekend

A number of AFL umpires will venture to Windy Hill to attend EDFL umpire training this Thursday as part of the AFL's Community Umpiring Round.

Former EDFL Umpire Matt Tomkins will be in attendance and sports one of the great AFL umpiring resumes in recent history.

Tomkins has officiated four AFL Grand Finals as a boundary umpire and will be joined by fellow boundary Sam Stagg.

A number of ex-EDFL umpires will headline the field group with former Hadfield junior, Michael Pell, set to be in attendance after being elevated to the AFL Field Umpiring Panel in March earlier this year.

Pell will be accompanied by fellow ex-EDFL umpire Nathan Toner as well as other field representative Nick Foot, Andre Gianfagna, Justin Power.

Fan favourite David Rodan will also be present between the sticks as a goal umpire mentor.

Toner and fellow AFL field umpire Nathan Williamson will also be around the grounds officiating some EDFL iFLY junior games on the weekend.

If you are interested in becoming an umpire with the EDFL, we are still accepting registrations for the 2022 season.
