2022 EDFL Senior Men's Football Fixtures

Full Fixtures Revealed


Fixtures for all three EDFL senior men's football competitions have been revealed ahead of the return to football in 2022.

All three divisions will take the field on April 2nd with a full 14-game fixture across the board for the season's opening round.

See the full 18-round fixture and finals dates for each division below.


STRATHMORE COMMUNITY BANK PREMIER DIVISION

Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division will kick off with a number of tantalising contests across the board.

Finals aspirants Aberfeldie and Maribyrnong Park will go head-to-head at Clifton Park with new coach Adam Marcon leading the way for the home side.

Greenvale will look to make amends for its last two seasons starting with the difficult task of the ever mighty Keilor Football Club at Joe Brown Oval.

Newly promoted East Keilor will start their Premier Division campaign against Essendon Doutta Stars as the home side at Overland Reserve, while last year's ladder leaders Strathmore travel to Canning Reserve to take on Avondale Heights and Glenroy host Pascoe Vale at Sewell Reserve.

The Good Friday fixture takes place in Round 2 and will see traditional rivals Strathmore and Keilor will play off on April 15th.

The Mores will back up again 10 days later for another marquee fixture as they travel to Sewell Reserve for their traditional ANZAC Day fixture against Glenroy.

A second ANZAC Day fixture will also take place in Premier Division as Avondale Heights play Aberfeldie at Canning Reserve.

Round 9 will see all teams face off bar Strathmore and Aberfeldie as two of the competitions biggest powerhouses prepare to play the following week over the Queen's Birthday Weekend.

With the game set to be played at the home of EDFL football, Windy Hill, fans are set for a treat on June 11th.

A second split round will take place in Round 14 with Greenvale hosting Essendon Doutta Stars and Strathmore playing Pascoe Vale on July 16th.

The remaining fixtures between Maribyrnong Park and East Keilor, Aberfeldie and Glenroy, and Avondale Heights and Keilor will be played on July 23rd.

The Premier Division finals series will commence on the weekend of August 27th with the Grand Final set to be played on the weekend of September 10th.


DIVISION ONE

There will be plenty to prove in 2022 for a number of Division One clubs and getting a win on the board in the opening round is the perfect way to start.

Craigieburn return to the division with a trip to Shore Reserve where they'll face West Coburg in what will be a great opening test for new coach Justin Sherman.

Moonee Valley's first Division One match-up sees the Fog welcoming Westmeadows to Ormond Park in a tough opening fixture.

Other fixtures see Roxburgh Park taking on Hillside at Lakeside Oval and Airport West hosting Rupertswood while Tullamarine and Sunbury Kangaroos will get their campaign underway with a 5pm twilight fixture at Leo Dineen Reserve.

The Sunbury Kangaroos will also feature on Good Friday this year as they replace relegated Taylors Lakes in the fixture against Hillside. 

The Sharks will retain hosting rights in 2022 after the game was played at Shark Park in 2021.

In Round 3, all eyes will be on the Sunbury Derby as Rupertswood travel to Eric Boardman Reserve to play the Sunbury Kangaroos on April 23rd. 

The last time the two sides met it was a classic under lights and the fixture is sure to deliver once again.

Airport West and Westmeadows will face-off on ANZAC Day, also a Round 3 fixture.

After a thriller twilight fixture last season, the Eagles will welcome the Tigers to Hansen Reserve this time around.

The Division One finals series will commence on the weekend of August 20th with the Grand Final set to be played on the weekend of September 3rd.


STRATHMORE COMMUNITY BANK DIVISION TWO

There have been a number of big moves across the Strathmore Community Bank Division Two off-season with a number of key match-ups falling in Round One.

Keilor Park have welcomed back favourite son Robbie Castello and Paul Guicas' team will kick off the season at home against Oak Park.

After finishing the year in second, the Kangaroos will be a formidable opponent to size up the aspirational Devils.

Taylors Lakes will start their Division Two campaign at Lionheart Reserve in a game against Coburg Districts.

After a successful return in 2021, Jacana will host Hadfield at Jacana Reserve, while East Sunbury will travel to Charles Mutton Reserve to face off against the Northern Saints. 

Burnside Heights' 2022 campaign will start in Round 2 in a match-up away against Oak Park after the Bears drew the bye for Round 1.

With ground works ruling out Burnside Recreational Reserve for the entirety of 2022, the Bears will call Brookside Recreational Reserve home next season.

The Bears will christen their new home ground in Round 3 in a blockbuster clash with Coburg Districts.

On Good Friday, Coburg Districts and Keilor Park will share hostilities after a successful launch of Good Friday football in Division Two last season.

This time around Districts will take hosting rights with the game to be played in the traditional 2:15pm timeslot at Cole Reserve.

There will be a few night games to keep an eye out for with East Sunbury set to welcome Oak Park in Round 6 and Burnside Heights in Round 14 to John McMahon Reserve under lights.
