Preliminary Final Preview - Jacana v Northern Saints

Saturday @ Coburg City Oval

By LIAM McALLION

A MATCH-UP of strength, endurance and size will provide for a major show here at Coburg City Oval.

An undermanned Jacana outfit, possibly without their skipper nor marquee forward, will have to lift all over the ground.

Corey McCawley for Jacana seemed to lift in Cloke's absence last week against Coburg Districts and they will need his aerial ability and accuracy in front of goal to get his side over the line.

With experience still aplenty and ball movement always classy through the middle of the ground, the Jags will still be at a very high level and will attack quick, long and direct all day long.

The Saints are coming off a strong win last week and will use this positivity to keep their train rolling.

They match up with Jacana very well with their size and speed, but the battle in the air and bursting out of contests will be where the game is won and both teams will lift in this area for the big occasion.

The purple and gold army will fire up the players after such a successful season and want for more success.

To go out in straight sets would be disastrous.

The Saints showed on Sunday against Moonee Valley they have enough firepower and class through the middle to be able to match it with Jacana, so this is going to be an epic clash for the right to advance to the Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 Grand Final.
