MANOR LAKES 7.3-45 def. SUNBURY 3.6-24
A GALLANT effort by Sunbury just wasn’t good enough at Dempster Park, as Manor Lakes charged its way into the Senior Women’s Grand Final.
The Storm intimidated with their fierce brand of footy, and applied great defensive pressure on the Lions.
Sunbury’s Natalie East and Brooke Surgeon were once again the standouts for their side, and ended their stellar season with another appearance in the best-on-ground votes.
But the show was stolen by Manor Lakes’ Lindsay Newton and Yana Frontczak, who produced another damaging game in the forward line.
Cara Dunshea also made a significant contribution to the 21-point win, putting in a huge effort across the ground.
Manor Lakes was way too good for the Lions earlier in the season, but this time, Sunbury was very competitive and put it all on the line at Sunshine.
But credit should be given to the experienced Sunbury side, which recorded a seven-game undefeated streak, and put in some memorable performances over the year.
