2025 Women's Season Preview - Aberfeldie

Club Previews

The 2025 season is just around the corner so EDFL Media will be previewing each club heading into Round One. Next, we chat to Aberfeldie coaches Emily Smith and Ashleigh Gunn who provide some insights on their 2025 campaign.

Coaches: Emily Smith and Ashleigh Gunn

PRE-SEASON FOCUS

"This pre-season we have had a real focus on improving our fitness and building a strong culture within the club."

PLAYERS TO WATCH

"Amelia Wright and Sienna Loccisano are two coming up from Under 18s and slotting straight into senior training.

"Liz Woerndle is returning from a huge injury last year and has barely missed a pre-season training session.

"Harriet Cashmore is in some good form and hasn't missed a beat pre-season."

2025 OUTLOOK

"Obviously we went down by the slimmest of margins last year in the grand final so we would love to go one better this year. But overall, we just want to continue to grow as a club and play Abers footy throughout all three teams."

EDFL MEDIA SAYS

After consecutive grand final losess, Abers will enter the 2025 season with even more motivation to reclaim their spot on the throne. Emily Smith and Ashleigh Gunn will take over as co-coaches and will be armed with some very handy inclusions, inaugural Collingwood AFLW star Moana Hope the latest. It'll be tight up the top, but Aberfeldie will be there again.
