The EDFL is proud to announce the 2025 Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division Team of the Year, as selected by the coaches!
Barry Prendergast has been selected by his peers as the coach of the side after a steep rise from Essendon Doutta Stars, with Airport West's Ned Gentile the captain.
Gentile will start on the half forward flank with the top five goal kickers in the competition completing the forward six.
Bailey Ryan (Essendon Doutta Stars - 56 goals) and Callum Moore (Aberfeldie - 68 goals) were selected unanimously in this side and will start at half forward and full forward respectively.
Max Rider (Airport West - 53 goals) and Chris Kosmas (Keilor - 48 goals) start in each forward pocket with Cody Brand (Keilor - 57 goals) at centre half forward.
Airport West's Matt Hanson was also selected unanimously and will start in the centre, with Corey Ellis (Keilor) and Stefan Rasinac (Aberfeldie) alongside him in the engine room.
Liam Mercieca (Essendon Doutta Stars) will be the starting ruck after just his second season in the top flight, with Douttas teammate Michael Kiraly and Keilor's Kyle O'Connor starting on the wings.
There's more representation for Essendon Doutta Stars in defence with Dylan Laurie retaining his spot in the back pocket, and Declan Willmore in the other pocket.
Brodie Newman (Aberfeldie) will start at full back, with Liam Cavanagh (Strathmore) and Billy Cannolo (Deer Park) again starting on the half back line alongside Paul Ahern (Pascoe Vale).
Starting on the bench is Mark Galea (Deer Park), Kane Barbuto (Keilor), Brodie Romensky (Maribyrnong Park), and Brock Egglestone (Strathmore).

SELECTION PROCESS & CRITERIA
All EDFL Teams of the Year are compiled based solely on the input of each club’s senior coach.
The 2025 Strathmore Community Bank Premier Division Team of the Year was to recognise the best players of the 2025 home-and-away season.
Other factors such as reputation or form in previous seasons were not to be taken into account.
The coach and captain of the side are determined based on the feedback provided by the senior coaches.
