2025 Strathmore Community Bank Division Two Team Of The Year

The EDFL is proud to announce the 2025 Strathmore Community Bank Division Two Team Of The Year, as selected by the coaches!

Westmeadows coach Ash Flavel was selected by his peers as the coach of the Team of the Year, with fellow Tiger Ryan Capron selected as captain.

Capron will start on a wing with Rupertswood's Clayton Bonello on the other wing.

Jordan Hughes (Burnside Heights) will again start at centre after receiving selection in every coach's nomination.

Aaron Evans (51 goals - Westmeadows) and Jack McNamara (71 goals - Coburg Districts) were the only other two players to be unanimously selected in this side, and will start at half forward and full forward respectively.

Mark Sabatino (Glenroy) and Mitch Streiff (Sunbury Kangaroos) each kicked 42 regular season goals and will start in the forward pocket and half forward respectively, with Fraser Phelan-Smith (41 goals - Rupertswood) at centre half forward.

East Sunbury's Todd Elton will fill out the forward six and is the first Thunder player to make the side since their return from recess for the 2023 season.

Sam Pontin (Keilor Park) will be the starting ruck and will have Rupertswood's Jackson Cardillo and Hadfield's Sam Godden with he and Hughes in the engine room.

Cody Wight (Glenroy), Tyson Iglesias (Burnside Heights), and Jordan Kosteas (Westmeadows) retain their spots in the back six.

Roys recruit Julian Hemala will slot in at half back with Riley Bentley (Coburg Districts) on the other flank, as Keilor Park's Ben Chisholm completes the back six.

Starting on the interchange is Joshua Trembearth (Hadfield), Mahmoud Taleb (Northern Saints), Daniel Ferraro (Glenroy), and Jacob Polizzi (Hadfield).


SELECTION PROCESS & CRITERIA

All EDFL Teams of the Year are compiled based solely on the input of each club’s senior coach.

The 2025 Strathmore Community Bank Division Two Team of the Year was to recognise the best players of the 2025 home-and-away season.

Other factors such as reputation or form in previous seasons were not to be taken into account.

The Coach and Captain of the Year are determined based on the feedback provided by the senior coaches.
