The top four in the 2023 Airport Toyota Women's Division One competition was settled for majority of the season so it's no surprise to see those sides comprise 20 of the 24 selections in the Team of the Year.
Greenvale were the benchmark for almost the entirety of the regular season and feature the most selections with six players named.
Terira Fry will again line up in the midfield and will be joined by Jets teammate Zoe Hardiman who spent more time in the engine room after being named on the half back flank in 2022.
Burnside Heights star Krissy Trang joins them with Essendon Doutta Stars premiership captain Neve Crowley slotting into the ruck.
Alisa Magri maintains her full forward post after taking out the goal kicking award again with 48 goals, and is joined by fellow Jet Nicolette Paschalis after a breakout season saw the 17-year-old kick 38 majors during the home-and-away season.
The half forward line is stacked with Gisborne's Charlotte Noonan (40 goals), Essendon Doutta Stars' Jessie Hulett (32 goals, plus seven during the finals) after a great first season since moving into the EDFL, and Burnside Heights' Kayla Ravanello who achieved a personal best goal tally with 43 regular season majors.
Greenvale's Amy Hakim spent more time in the defensive half this season and will line up on the half back flank with Shannon McFerran (Gisborne) who has moved off the bench from 2022, and Ebony Stevens (Burnside Heights).
Claire Bourdon (Gisborne) and Casee Gazelle (Essendon Doutta Stars) round out the back five in the full back slots.
Gisborne's Ruby Watts has also attained a starting position in this year's side and will fill the wings with Greenvale's Chanel Caruso.
Brianna Woodburn starts on the interchange and is the fifth Gisborne player selected in the side, while Megan Runting and Jasmine Arezzolo also make it five for Essendon Doutta Stars with their interchange positions.
Tullamarine's three selections in the side start on the pine with Tricia Devine, Fallon Courts, and Courtney Annett, while Holly McGregor (Burnside Heights) and Emily Taylor (Sunbury Lions) round out the 24.
The coach and captain of the Team of the Year will be announced at the EDFL Presentation Evening on September 28.
