2022 Airport Toyota Women's Division One Team of the Year

Full 24 Revealed

After dominate seasons from Strathmore and Greenvale in the 2022 Airport Toyota Women's Division One competition, its no surprise that the two grand finalists are well represented in the Team of the Year.

There were 11 players selected between the Jets and Mores in the team starting with a star studded midfield.

Premiership teammates Eloise Freeman and Clara Toperosa (Strathmore) fill the spots of ruck rover and rover with Greenvale's Terira Fry the starting centre in the team.

Amy Starzer enjoyed her first year as a Sunbury Lion, taking the mantle of ruck in the team.

The midfield is completed by Essendon Doutta Stars duo Ella Nickolaus and Harmony Mitsos who both made the wings.

Up forward, it comes as no shock that the two highest scoring teams of the year, Strathmore and Greenvale, have plenty of personal roaming the attacking arc.

The competition's leading goal kicker, Alisa Magri is named at full forward after slotting 42 majors in the home-and-away season.

She is joined by teammates Amy Hakim and Haylea Cook, while Strathmore pair Chiara Guarino and Georgie Richardson also line up in the forward six.

Gisborne's Charlotte Noonan is named in the forward pocket after kicking 34 goals, the second most in comp.

Down back, a couple of Kangaroos make the team with Sunbury's Olivia Cairo and Harmoni Chivell named in a pocket and half back flank respectively.

Brianna Woodburn from Gisborne was selected at full back and Essendon Doutta Stars' Megan Runting completes the spine at centre half back.

Zoe Hardiman (Greenvale) and Audrey Follett (Sunbury Lions) make up the rest of the back six.

On the bench, Robyn Randell (Strathmore), Ashlee Thorneycroft (Strathmore), Ruby Watts (Gisborne), Lisa Borg (Sunbury Kangaroos), Shannon McFerran (Gisborne) and Shelby Meyers (Essendon Doutta Stars) complete the final 24.

The coach and captain of the Team of the Year will be announced at the EDFL Presentation Evening on September 21st.
