Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 Fixture To Be Amended

H&A Season To Be Extended

THE home-and-away fixture and final series for Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 will undergo several amendments following the withdrawal of Keilor Park from the 2018 season.

To provide the highest integrity of the Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 senior and reserves competitions, as well as the fairest method for all clubs, the EDFL has decided to extend the fixture from 18 rounds to 21 rounds.

This allows every club to play each other three times and have three byes.

Teams will be given four premiership points for a bye, as they are in Essendon Ford Division 1.

A bye will replace Keilor Park in the existing fixture and there will be a complete round of matches on both 9 June (Queens Birthday weekend) and 16 June.

Two additional weeks will be added to the original fixture, with Rounds 19, 20 and 21 to replicate the existing Rounds 5, 6 and 7.

“We understand that this is a significant change and appreciate it will cause inconvenience,” EDFL CEO Craig Armstead said.

“However, we believe it is the best outcome given the circumstances.”

A revised fixture for Seniors, Reserves and Under 19.5s can be found here.
