Round 18 Preview - Strathmore Community Bank Division 2

By LIAM McALLION

JACANA v COBURG DISTRICTS

POSSIBLY the biggest game all season, where the winner will jump to top spot for the minor premiership.

That said, though, the two will meet again next weekend in a far more important Qualifying Final at Coburg City Oval for a spot in the Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 Grand Final.

But the minor premiership, at least, comes down to this.

The question is whether this is a Grand Final preview.

Only time will tell and what better way than this match-up to size the two up?

This rivalry is only just beginning and this will be an amazing game.

BURNSIDE HEIGHTS v EAST SUNBURY – Radio Game

With this being the final game for both these teams, pride and a positive finish will be their goals, still making for a thriller.

Some of the most in-form players of the competition are up against each other here.

EDFL star on the rise Tom Burnside has lifted the Thunder over the line many times this year and the young leg speed that the Thunder have will match up well against the Bears’ experience.

This experience is highlighted through the competition’s most consistent performer in Josh Covelli.

Adding to his huge 74 this season, how many majors will he finish with?

Burnside Heights’ determination to stay off the bottom of the ladder and will for their always loyal fans will drive them all day.

A great game with two proud outfits will make for a flashy affair.

NORTHERN SAINTS v KEILOR PARK

Keilor Park will be up and about this week after an upset for the Saints last week.

With the last round now here, Keilor Park will bring their all through pace out of defence to try and avoid the wooden spoon.

The Northern Saints will be firing this week, searching for a win to roll into a big finals campaign.

With experience, pace and size making them successful this year, it will again show in this game and build their fans’ hope for the post-season in a great match-up.

MOONEE VALLEY v ROXBURGH PARK

The black and white rivalry and tenacity these two clubs play with will bring a tough brand of footy to Ormond Park.

The Fog against the Magpies always seems to impress.

With a few close encounters lately, they will combine for a fast-paced, crowd-lifting match to end the home-and-away season.

Moonee Valley pride themselves on effort each and every week and this ‘give it all’ attitude until the siren will again be shown and has landed them in the finals.

After a tough season not making finals, the Magpies will want to finish on a positive note and with a classy midfield and flashy style, they will match-up well here.
