By JULIA MONTESANO

KEILOR 7.10-52 def. MANOR LAKES 1.3-9

Game Details

KEILOR has done it again, beating Manor Lakes for the third time in as many games.

But this win had a little more significance, as it propelled the ever-so-dominant Blues into the Grand Final.

Tanay Barbuto stepped up to the plate, and starred with three big goals in the Qualifying Final win.

The match was one of the most worrying encounters for Keilor, only leading by 11 points at half time.

But Keilor kicked into gear and fired up in the third quarter, kicking four unanswered goals to send Manor Lakes into this weekend’s Preliminary Final against Sunbury.

Despite a great game from Madisson Ahumada, the Storm couldn’t match the skill and efforts displayed by Keilor’s Rachael Knight, Bryana Jones and Jill McBain.

The Wright sisters and Brooke Todero were consistent as usual for the Blues, and it helped them score a fantastic 43-point victory.

SUNBURY LIONS 5.15-45 def. CAROLINE SPRINGS 2.3-15

Game Details

This match was a real coin toss, with both teams playing some excellent footy throughout the season.

Sunbury aimed to start off the game with a bang, but their inaccuracy hurt them on the scoreboard, kicking five behinds in the first quarter.

The Lakers fought back in the second quarter, and kicked two goals to Sunbury’s one, reducing the deficit to just one point at half time.

In the third quarter, the Lions’ inaccuracy plagued them again, ending the quarter with three goals and 13 behinds.

But to their credit, they managed to keep Caroline Springs to just one behind for the rest of the game, and in the end, it was a convincing 30-point win for Sunbury.

Iesha Lauaki, Brooke Theodore, Natalie East and Simone Craige continued their great form in the blue and white.

This time, the girls were able to step up to the plate and deliver their team a preliminary finals berth.
