Westmeadows has won its first senior men's premiership in 42 years in a thrilling one-point victory against Coburg Districts at Windy Hill.
The Tigers handed the Lions their first loss this season and after consecutive years of heartbreak, the Tigers have finally taken out the premiership in one of most exciting finishes to a game this season.
The opening term saw the Districts get on top kicking a couple of early goals before Shaun O’Grady nailed the Tigers' first of the match.
It was a wayward second term for both teams with only two goals being scored from a combined 10 scoring shots, kickstarting a trend of poor goal kicking for the rest of the game.
It was a tragic third quarter in front of the sticks for the Districts which saw the minor premiers kick seven behinds and miss easy chances in front of goal which only gave them a 13-point lead heading into the final quarter of the season.
The Tigers came out hunting in the final term and kicked two early goals inside the first five minutes, cutting the margin to just a solitary point and rattling Districts.
The Lions continued to miss chances late and pulled to within one point in the dying stages.
The siren sounded and the Tiger army erupted as they became the Community Bank Strathmore Division Two premiers.
It was made even more remarkable as the Lions were untamed throughout their entire campaign but stumbled at the final stop of the season.
Francis Keenan was awarded the Ian Price Medal as the best on ground on Saturday afternoon.
Keenan was well supported through an Alessio Saitta masterclass where he conjured up 42 disposals and 13 rebound 50s and was classy by foot.
Nathan Sparks was also impressive with 29 disposals and 14 tackles as a beast in the middle for the Tigers.
Districts skipper Riley Bentley led his boys well and kicked a couple of handy goals out of the midfield which still did not prove to be enough.
Ahmed Elbaba was prolific with his defensive efforts and ended the game with eight tackles and ended his season with one of his best performances.
Despite the defeat, Districts should be incredibly proud of their season.
An amazing finals run from the Tigers was capped off with as great a feeling as they could ask for.
Westmeadows is returning to Community Bank Strathmore Division One.
