The Top-10 EDFL Men's Division Two Players Revealed

By Luke D'Anello

The big names have been keeping the statisticians busy in Community Bank Strathmore Division Two this season and racked up some remarkable numbers.

Premier Data has been tracking every kick, mark, and handball (and everything else) in 2026, so we thought it was time to rank the division's elite based on ranking points.

Players needed to have featured in at least seven of the 12 games to qualify for this list, and many of them could feature prominently in what shapes as an engrossing finals series.

This is the first of a three-part series analysing the stars of the senior men's competitions. The Division One list will be released next Thursday.

10. Jai Bahnert (Keilor Park, averaging 124.8 ranking points)

Bahnert arrived at the Devils from Aberfeldie in the off-season and has been a standout in a testing campaign for the club. He has been named in the best nine times from 10 matches and is averaging 27 possessions, seven marks, five clearances, five tackles, five inside 50s, and six score involvements.

9. Nick Maric (Glenroy, 125.7)

Maric was good enough to secure team-of-the-year honours during his stint with Greenvale, so it is little surprise he has made an immediate mark in his first season with the Roys. He is averaging almost 29 possessions, seven marks, seven clearances, and seven score involvements. Maric has also been dangerous inside the attacking 50m arc, nailing 17 goals from 10 games. Will be a key man in August and September.

8. Ryan Capron (Westmeadows, 126.2)

Rarely out of the best players, the champion Tigers skipper has again been a dominant force as they chase an elusive premiership. Capron regularly returns more than 30 touches and had 52 against Keilor Park in Round 11. The well-rounded midfielder ranks elite for marks, clearances and inside 50s. Capron was best afield in last year's grand final defeat and will be hoping to add a different medal to his collection in 2026.

7. Jake Polizzi (Hadfield, 127.7)

The Polizzi name is synonymous with the Hawks, and the star midfielder continues to underline his status as one of the division's elite performers. Polizzi is averaging 35 possessions, 11 marks, and six clearances this year, earning nine mentions in the best players from his 12 outings. He leads the division for marks and is third for disposals, racking up 52 against Burnside Heights in Round 6. With Hadfield sitting fourth, he may get the chance to shine on the big stage later this year.

6. Hisham Kerbatieh (Northern Saints, 128.3)

The Saints' big-name signing has been in scintillating form this season and was superb in Saturday's win over Keilor Park, bagging five goals for the second time in 2026. Kerbatieh has 18 majors from nine appearances and ranks elite in 13 of Premier Data's 19 key statistical categories. He has had more than 40 touches three times and the club desperately needs to retain the former VFL player.

5. Lachlan Evans (Burnside Heights, 129.1)

Wins have been scarce for the Bears this year, but the gun big man continues to deliver. Evans is averaging almost 25 possessions, five marks, eight clearances, six inside 50s, and 30 hit outs, underlining his status as one of the division's leading performers. Evans has enjoyed a red-hot run of form, named in his team's best in the past seven matches.

4. Sam Godden (Hadfield, 138.4)

The prolific midfielder is enjoying another fine season and has helped lift the Hawks up the ladder. Godden is averaging 33.5 possessions a game and had a dominant fortnight in Rounds 5 and 6 when he collected a combined 104 possessions against Westmeadows and Burnside Heights. The ex-Pascoe Vale Premier Division player has also been named in the best 10 times.

3. Julian Hemala (Glenroy, 142.2)

The former Pascoe Vale Premier Division star continues to make a big impact in Division Two as the Roys put themselves in contention for a return to the second tier. Hemala was crowned the club's best and fairest last year and is in contention for back to back. A model of consistency, he has featured in the best eight times in 2026 while averaging 28 possessions and seven marks. Helped himself to 44 touches against Sunbury Kangaroos in Round 6.

2. Riley Bentley (Coburg Districts, 147)

The Lions' co-captain has led from the front in 2026, developing a case of leather poisoning almost weekly on his way to an eye-popping average of 38.2 possessions per game. He has topped 40 touches seven times from 12 games, headlined by a 54-disposal haul against Westmeadows. Bentley has nine mentions in the best to his name and will be a key figure as the ladder-leading Coburg Districts chases its maiden EDFL senior men's flag.

1. Jordan Kosteas (Westmeadows, 151.6)

The Tigers' Mr Consistent, Kosteas has earned 10 mentions in the best from 12 appearances this season. He put Sunbury Kangaroos to the sword with 50 possessions in Round 9 and has helped himself to 40 touches or more three times. Throw in the fact Kosteas ranks elite in 13 of Premier Data's 19 key statistical categories - including contested possessions, clearances, and score involvements - and it's clear who will be the key man in Westmeadows' premiership bid.
