HILLSIDE v AIRPORT WEST
WITH the ladder yet to completely be decided going into the final round of the 2017 Essendon Ford Division 1 season, the last finals spot is still up for grabs.
That makes this a huge game for Airport West and the context of their season.
Airport West sits fifth on percentage, just behind Oak Park, which means the Eagles need to cause an upset here and ensure they win by a fair margin as well, which is going to be difficult.
Last time these two met Airport West went down by a point in a thrilling match at Hansen Reserve.
After the Eagles were in front all day, Hillside managed to edge back in front and hold on.
This is going to be huge.
OAK PARK v TULLAMARINE
Somehow Oak Park have scraped their season back and now sit first in the race to finish fourth.
Coming up against Tullamarine, however, this will be one of the Kangaroos’ biggest tests yet, and they will leave nothing out on the ground.
This will show the competition whether or not Oak Park are up for the challenge of finals.
The two met at Leo Dineen Reserve on the last occasion and the Demons got the last laugh, defeating Oak Park by eight points.
However, with Oak Park’s form over the past few weeks, anything could happen.
WESTMEADOWS v EAST KEILOR
Westmeadows and East Keilor, two sides that have showed plenty of fight and determination, as well as talent during this 2017 season, really proving that they will both be teams to watch in seasons to come.
Going head-to-head this week, this game will definitely be good to watch, as it is their final game for the year they will both leave everything on the ground.
Westmeadows got the last laugh last time these two played as they beat East Keilor by seven points.
Aaron Evans and Mohamed Saad got their side over the line with great performances in what was a thrilling match.
East Keilor came out strong but just couldn’t hold onto the lead.
They will be sure to this time around.
GLENROY v HADFIELD
In the context of the season, there isn’t much both of these sides could get out of this one as both are locked into their respective ladder positions.
Well… that is beside Hadfield getting their first win for the season in the last round, which they wouldn’t expect to happen against the best side in the competition.
However, anything is possible.
With one round to go Hadfield would love the points here and to get a taste of victory before going back down to Strathmore Community Bank Division 2.
Though, if it goes anything like last time the two played, it could get messy, as Glenroy dismantled the bottom side 243 points.
