Round 15 Preview - Strathmore Community Bank Division 2

By LIAM McALLION

ROXBURGH PARK v NORTHERN SAINTS

BRUT force and overall strength in contests will be a highlight of this game.

These qualities shine through young guns for both sides, including the Magpies’ Jack Elliot and Northern Saints’ Ryan Lofaro, who give it their all each week.

The Magpies finals hopes have faded but with their hardness in contests and will to always be competitive, anything is possible.

The Northern Saints, however, are showing great signs of improvement and have almost locked in third spot on the Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 table.

Their tenacious attitude and attack on the footy matches up well against the home team and it will be a must-see match-up at Lakeside Oval.

JACANA v EAST SUNBURY

A huge game in many respects

Will history be made?

Cameron Cloke, needing to slot four for a phenomenal century, is a real possibility of cracking the ton.

The Thunder are looking to steal that spotlight by bringing real tenacity, still chasing a first ever finals appearance.

The powerful nature of the Jaguars and the elite skill of the Thunder will bring a huge and always-vocal crowd down to Jacana Reserve.

Not only is history on the line for both teams, but Jacana is only just in top spot with a powerful Coburg Districts outfit right on their heels.

So both teams have a lot to play for in what will be a must-watch match of the round.

KEILOR PARK v MOONEE VALLEY

Keilor Park’s becoming increasingly exciting to watch.

The Devils will be looking to build on that against Moonee Valley, who each week bring pride for their club and are always tough in the contest, making this a great match-up.

Leadership and skill will be a big factor as both sides will display classy ball-use and produce many promising attacks.

The Fog is deservingly comfortable in the top four after some consistent performances.

Two games ahead of the Thunder on the ladder, the size and presence they have at both ends will again help them take the points and further help their finals cause here.

COBURG DISTRICTS v BURNSIDE HEIGHTS

Both teams are looking to improve on the ladder, but for different reasons.

Burnside Heights is looking to stay above the bottom of the ladder and gain some respect within the division.

Here the Bears face the Lions, who kick big scores and use the ball through their big players.

The Lions are on the hunt for the top spot and are looking for a percentage booster to jump the Jaguars.

Their run out of defence and open forward line has brought Coburg Districts great success and large numbers down to Cole Reserve, and they will see a thrilling encounter.
