Round 14 Preview - Strathmore Community Bank Division 2

By LIAM McALLION

NORTHERN SAINTS v EAST SUNBURY

THE Saints are in their best form since the season began and after beating one of the favourites in Coburg Districts, they are now hunting a top two spot on the Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 ladder.

They have the game style and belief now to beat anyone.

The Thunder will be fired up and make this a chance to redeem themselves after going down in a big game last week against Moonee Valley.

With only one win separating them and a top four spot, they will stay positive and play fast footy, using their speed to great advantage.

A huge and vocal crowd down at Charles Mutton Reserve will be in for a thrilling contest which will showcase young goal-kicking machines and electrifying pace all around the ground.

JACANA v ROXBURGH PARK

Outshone by some close games last round, the Jaguars have sneakily taken over reign in Strathmore Community Bank Division 2 in powerful fashion.

Roxburgh Park’s club vibe is built around positivity and they are still working hard and are up and about to make a late finals run only two wins and percentage out of the top four.

They will have to bring their best against a side that is scary to face with the form they are in.

All eyes will be on the unstoppable Cameron Cloke.

After a season-high 15 majors last week, he has hit 90 for the season and potentially could get the ton here.

The large crowd at Jacana Reserve will be delighted to have their side back home and they’ll be up and about if number nine bags 10.

MOONEE VALLEY v BURNSIDE HEIGHTS

Spirit around Moonee Valley will be at its peak after beating the Thunder in the radio game last week.

Their form through a quick, long and direct game style and will to win each contest means the Fog is a team to watch.

Burnside Heights, however, when firing, can keep up with anyone.

With will and belief in themselves, the Bears have been competitive against many teams and work hard in each game for their club to gain respect within the division.

Their brutal forward line and athletic ability catapulting out of defence will contrast extremely well up against Moonee Valley’s bigger bodies and make for a high-scoring, close contest.

KEILOR PARK v COBURG DISTRICTS (1:45pm Start)

Some good talent will be on display in front of Keilor Park’s boisterous home crowd.

After only their second loss for the season, the Lions will come at the Devils at full force to stop that losing feeling from ever coming back.

Coburg Districts, who have been in control of top spot all season, are now second.

So the Lions will be fired up from here on in and will be a force that will be extremely hard to stop.

With the Devils desire and belief in themselves each week, they will be competitive and hungry not to be the year’s wooden spooners.
