TULLAMARINE v TAYLORS LAKES
A HUGE game in the context of the season and with Taylors Lakes’ finals hopes alive, an unexpected upset could put them into the finals race.
Sitting just beneath Airport West, they could possibly be in the top four after this weekend.
However, Tullamarine aren’t going to be easy to beat, sitting second on the ladder with nine wins and only two losses for the season.
Taylors Lakes will have to be on for a full four quarters if they want to keep up with the Demons.
The Lions will come in with plenty of confidence, however, after a very strong win against Airport West last week.
James Vistarini will need to be shut down after kicking six goals.
However, the midfield of Tullamarine may be too strong with a good couple of weeks from Will Becker and Daniel Devine.
It is going to be a good game to watch.
EAST KEILOR v HILLSIDE
Sitting third on the ladder with seven wins and three losses, Hillside’s season has been impressive.
Sitting a game behind second spot, Hillside will want to ensure they don’t drop any games to have the chance to get back into the top two.
Coming off a bye though last week might have been that little bit of rest East Keilor needed to come out firing.
Not having the year they would have hoped for, the Cougars will definitely be eager to try and cause an upset against the Sharks.
They’ll once again need the likes of co-coaches Ash Arrowsmith, Nick Grigg and star midfielder Vincent Madaffari to step up if they are a chance of knocking off Hillside.
HADFIELD v AIRPORT WEST
Coming off a loss on their home deck at Hansen Reserve in front of a big crowd last week, it is certain Airport West will want to redeem themselves.
Hadfield really does not have anything to lose, and they will also want to try and get a win on the board and make something of its 2017 season.
The year has been a tough one for Hadfield, but they do have the opportunity to make up for the poor first half.
However, in terms of Airport West’s season, they cannot afford to drop this week’s game, sitting fourth with Taylors Lakes on equal points.
Young and old for Airport West will need to stand up to ensure they stay in control of the game and take home the four points.
An upset could see them fall out of finals contentions.
WESTMEADOWS v GLENROY
Glenroy’s year has been close to perfect, dropping one match early in the season but bouncing back to dominate from that point on and beat everyone within the division.
That makes Westmeadows’ task here a tough one.
However, they definitely could cause an upset.
If Glenroy come in over-confident, Westmeadows could shock the competition with a win at home.
Sitting seventh with four wins and six losses, it hasn’t been too bad of a year, with a long injury list and some standout players doing well.
Mitch Church has 32 goals to his name this season and is a great avenue to goal for Westmeadows.
He is actually leading Glenroy’s top goal scorer, Jayden Walker, who currently sits on 31 majors.
Westmeadows may push the ladder-leader, but expect Glenroy to keep its streak going.
