Round 11 Preview - Strathmore Community Bank Division 2

By LIAM McALLION

ROXBURGH PARK v COBURG DISTRICTS

THE inconsistency of the Magpies must lift to beat the powerful Lions, who are at the very top and want to continue a great season.

Roxburgh Park leaders have ferocity at the footy and still show a will to make finals.

This will have to be strong throughout their whole team on the weekend to be competitive against such a well-structured side.

Coburg Districts style of run and carry and an open forward line is hard to stop.

They will want to continue this dominance and style to stay at the top and get away from the Jags, who are right on their heels for top spot.

JACANA v EAST SUNBURY

The form of Jacana this season is scary for the division’s competitors and they will want to continue their big scores this weekend.

East Sunbury, since coming into the league, have built each year and are again showing signs this year by currently sitting fourth.

This will make for a great match-up as tall and powerful players for the Jags will be up against the speed and slickness of the Thunder.

This will make for a game better than expected and effort from both teams.

BURNSIDE HEIGHTS v NORTHERN SAINTS

Tough games last round for both teams with big-bodied opponents will lead to a lift in intensity across the board.

It has been a promising year so far with the rise of Anthony Fawcus and Logan Clegg, whose pace and aerial ability are helping their Bears gain on the Magpies on the ladder.

The Saints still looking for some consistency against the top teams are wanting to close in on the top two and prove they can be in the same discussion as the Jags and Lions.

This consistency will rise through continued form of Mohamed Taleb and Ali Saad, whose experience and pressure lifts the Saints across the ground.

MOONEE VALLEY v KEILOR PARK

The Fog is trying to edge away from the Magpies on the ladder and will come out firing to get into some consistent footy.

Keilor Park still wanting to get a win on the board will need some of their more experienced players to lift and be competitive.

The vocal crowd at Ormond Park always rallies hard for Moonee Valley and will see some great talent on display.

We should be in for a thriller.
