By JULIA MONTESANO

PASCOE VALE 10.10-70 def. ROXBURGH PARK 2.0-12

Match Details

PASCOE Vale came out determined in the first quarter, kicking four goals to Roxburgh Park’s one.

In the second quarter, the Panthers were able to hold Roxburgh Park scoreless, and pile on another three goals for themselves.

This took their half time lead to 42 points, giving Pascoe Vale all the confidence to come away with a big Friday night win.

Jodie Fry shone with her impressive performance in the forward line, kicking three of Pascoe Vale’s 10 goals.

Jane Greenshields’ consistency also prevailed under lights, as she produced another great performance in the red and black.

She added two goals to the board and was named amongst the best.

But it was Ashleigh Ford’s night, as her experience and strength was on display, earning her a best-on-ground accolade.

The Panthers recorded one of their biggest wins of the season against the struggling Magpies, defeating them by 58 points.

GLEN ORDEN 1.1-7 def. by CAROLINE SPRINGS 7.4-46

Match Details

It was a slow start for Caroline Springs in a game where they were expected to secure an easy win.

But the Hawks didn’t make it easy, as the Lakers only scored one goal in the first quarter.

At half time, the margin was just 17 points, after Caroline Springs added two more goals in the second quarter.

Another slow third quarter from Caroline Springs was handy for the Hawks.

But unfortunately, they couldn’t transition the ball down into their forward line to capitalise on the Lakers’ mistakes.

The away side finally kicked away in the last quarter, adding three goals to their total to bring the final margin to 39 points.

Shannon Lake was the only multiple goal-scorer for the Lakers, with two majors next to her name.

Usual suspects, Carissa Whiley and Krystyn Raymundo featured in the best for Caroline Springs, and will be crucial come finals time.

MANOR LAKES 10.14-74 def. SUNBURY 3.0-18

Match Details

In the match-of-the-round, it was second v third in a massive clash at Howqua Reserve.

Sunbury went into the match undefeated, but came out with their first loss of the season.

The home side played a game conducive to finals football, highlighting their newly-risen favouritism to feature in the grand final.

Storm star forward, Kellee McIntosh was vital once again, as her four-goal performance continued to solidify her as one of the best forwards in the competition.

As always, she was complemented by goals from Yana Frontczak and Lindsay Newton, elevating them as the most dangerous forward trios in the competition.

Kerry Saunders kicked two of the Lions’ three goals, but it wasn’t enough to score an upset win over a strong Storm outfit.

The final margin reached 56 points, giving Manor Lakes a massive percentage boost, a massive boost on the ladder and a massive chance for premiership glory.

KEILOR 26.26-182 def. TARNEIT 0.0-0

Match Details

It was always going to be an ugly game for Tarneit, as the bottom-placed side faced the top-of-the-table and premiership favourites, Keilor.

The home side kicked away in the first quarter, taking the margin out to 56 points after just 17 minutes of football.

But the home side was still hungry for more, piling on another 14 goals in the second half, including eight goals in the last quarter.

Brooke Todero starred once again for the Blues, this time with seven goals next to her name.

The usual suspect was complemented by Ellie McLean, who added five goals in the forward line and a best-on-ground accolade to her name.

Although it was a scoreless game for the Tarneit, Cassandra Lynch tried hard all day for the Titans, and was recognised amongst the best.

In the end, the Blues recorded a whopping 182-point win, boosting Keilor’s percentage to an unbelievable 3006.98.
