EDFL partner, Nelson Alexander Real Estate, has today announced a referral program that will see funds from property sales and managed leases be put towards a ‘Community Boot Fund'.
This fund is designed to provide in need players with access to new boots to support their continued participation in our league.
Backed by Nelson Alexander’s Ascot Vale, Essendon, Keilor East, Flemington and Pascoe Vale offices, the new fund has been created to offer any EDFL players and families who need assistance in covering the costs associated with purchasing new boots.
Two routes for the application have been introduced. Club volunteers can apply on behalf of a player they feel is in need, and alternatively, family members can submit an application on behalf of their player.
Cody Bettanin, Office Manager at Pascoe Vale, said: “We're thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to the EDFL community, a league that’s given so much to us and our families over the years.
“Playing in the League has created countless great memories, and it means a lot to us to be able to support others in growing their love for the game, just like we did.”
Nelson Alexander’s referral program will donate 10 per cent of the commission for every property sold and $200 for every new rental to the Nelson Alexander Boot Fund.
“Nelson Alexander have long been a champion of the EDFL and community footy, and we’re thrilled to have worked with them to create this new fund”, said EDFL CEO Andrew Johnston.
“We all know that cost of living is an ever-growing challenge for families, and when Nelson Alexander approached us with the opportunity to help remove barriers to sport for families in our league, we jumped at the opportunity.
“We believe that every child deserves the chance to play football, and this new boot fund ensures that no player misses out on the game they love due to a lack of access to equipment.”
