McKerchar Claims Hawks B&F In Nail-Biter Count

Club-by-Club B&F Results

HADFIELD'S Jacob McKerchar has held on to claim the Hawks' 2017 best-and-fairest gong by just two votes.

McKerchar returned to the club after a year with Division 1 VAFA side Therry Penola, where he played four senior games during the 2016 season.

While his side struggled through the Essendon Ford Division 1 season to finish winless for the year, the 24-year-old was a pillar of consistency in brown and gold, finishing with 11 bests from all 16 outings.

On four occasions during the latter half of the year, McKerchar also chipped in for Hadfield's Reserves, doubling up there before continuing through to the senior game.

He finished two votes ahead of Steven Angus, while Patrick Fairhead had a solid year himself and finished third in the vote count.
