ABERFELDIE 19.12 (126) def. PASCOE VALE 12.16 (88)
MATCH CENTRE

Aberfeldie has taken a huge step towards claiming the double chance after defeating Pascoe Vale by 38 points at Clifton Park.

Saturday’s win is arguably Abers best win for the year and now means the side is equal on points with Pascoe Vale.

The Panthers started strongly with five first-quarter goals to go into the first change with a six-point lead, however Abers turned the tables on them with a six-goal second quarter.

Pascoe Vale had chances to get back into the game after half time, but ultimately blew them after kicking 2.6 for the quarter.

The Rillas finished the game strongly with five final-quarter goals sealing their seventh victory for the year.

Coach Leigh Tudor praised his side’s ball use and decision making as well as their pressure in the second quarter which helped set up the win.

Jack Parker was impressive on debut kicking two goals, while Matt Williamson and Jack Middleton led from the front all day.

Todd Goldstein’s first season as a Panther continues to go from strength to strength after booting a season-high four goals, while Ben Allan and Liam Ogden fought hard.

Abers will be hoping to keep the momentum going when they meet with Deer Park at John McLeod Reserve, while Pascoe Vale will host Hillside.

HILLSIDE 17.13 (115) def. AIRPORT WEST 16.10 (106)
MATCH CENTRE

Hillside has given its chances of survival a huge boost after defeating Airport West by 11 points at Shark Park.

Saturday’s victory is the Sharks' fourth for the season and now means they are two games and percentage above last spot.

Airport West still has just the two wins for the year and is still sitting in last spot, however is less than one percent behind Greenvale.

The Sharks started strongly booting five first-quarter goals before their lead was cut to just eight points after Airport West responded with three goals in the second quarter.

A high scoring third quarter didn’t do much to separate the two sides with both sides managing eight goals for the quarter.

The Eagles opened the final quarter with three quick goals and took the lead, however Hillside rallied halfway through the term with four consecutive goals enough to seal the win.

Coach Mo Kaakour said he thought his side we started well on the back of their ability to come forward to defend.

“We were able to play the game in our front half for large portions of the game," Kaakour said. "I also thought our contest and post clearance running patterns were the best they’ve been all year.

“I thought our aerial power and ability to win or halve the contest was really good which allowed our players to get to work.”

Daniel Barker had his best game since making the switch from St Bernards mid-season booting four goals, while Noah Asciak and Nick Fluke were both superb.

Giacomo Thomas made an instant impact on Eagles debut with four goals, while Jack Keogh and Matt Hanson were good again.

Hillside will be looking to test itself when it takes on Pascoe Vale at Raeburn Reserve, while Airport West will meet with Essendon Doutta Stars at Nipper Jordan Oval.

KEILOR 25.16 (166) def. ESSENDON DOUTTA STARS 9.7 (61)
MATCH CENTRE

Keilor has once again sent a message to the rest of the competition, defeating Essendon Doutta Stars by 105 points at Joe Brown Oval.

Saturday’s win in the Blues' eighth win in a row and now means they are a game clear in second.

After a positive seven weeks which saw the Stars stamp their claim as a genuine finals threat, Saturday’s match was a step back for one of the competition’s best defensive sides.

Coach Mick McGuane was rapt with his side’s complete performance and their ability to execute its plan to take down Doutta's defence.

The Blues were on from the start booting six goals in the first quarter before backing it up in the second term with four goals, all while holding the visitors goalless.

With the margin already at 47 points the Blues weren’t finished there, with seven goals in the third quarter blowing the lead out to 85 points.

Eight final quarter goals were enough to ensure Keilor’s second three-figure victory for the season.

Cody Brand was on song in front of goal booting another bag of five goals, while Stefan Radovanovic and Corey Ellis were both excellent.

Despite going down, Bailey Ryan and Declan Willmore both managed three goals, while Declan Tully was good again.

Keilor will be hoping to make another statement next week when it hosts Strathmore, while Douttas will return to Nipper Jordan Oval to take on Airport West.

STRATHMORE 18.23 (131) def. GREENVALE 11.2 (68)
MATCH CENTRE

Strathmore has bounced back from last week’s loss, defeating Greenvale by 63 points at Lebanon Reserve.

The win solidifies Strathmore’s grip on top spot and moves the side to 10-1 for the season.

Despite showing some glimpses of improvement, Greenvale ultimately couldn’t sustain it for long enough and now sit just above last spot.

Strathmore opened the match with five goals in the first quarter, however Greenvale was up for the fight with four straight goals of its own.

A 3.9 quarter for the reigning premiers meant the margin at half time was only 28 points, before extending the lead to 38 at the final change.

Another five goals for Strathmore in the final term was enough for the home side to run away with another comfortable victory.

Coach Matthew Horne said, “It was great to rebound and play well for four quarters and we are looking forward to next week’s challenge.”

Oscar Mammoliti showed he has plenty to offer at senior level with three goals, while Lachlan Plant and Sam Hayes were good once again.

Josh Porter continues to shoulder the load for Greenvale up forward with another two goals, while Oliver Watt and James Manfre showed some positive signs.

Strathmore will now gear up for a blockbuster grand final rematch with Keilor at Joe Brown Oval, while Greenvale will meet with Maribyrnong Park at Monk Oval.

MARIBYRNONG PARK 14.12 (96) def. DEER PARK 9.13 (67)
MATCH CENTRE

Maribyrnong Park has returned to the winners list for the first time in seven weeks, defeating Deer Park by 29 points at Monk Oval.

Saturday’s win is the Lions' first victory since Round 4 and means the side are only a game outside the top five and still in the finals hunt.

Despite putting in such a strong performance last week, Deer Park couldn’t back it up and now face an uphill battle to qualify for finals again.

The Lions found the response they were after early in the game, booting eight first-quarter goals to go into the break with a 36-point lead.

Deer Park fought hard in the second quarter but could only cut Marby’s lead to 28 points at half time.

Three goals to each side in the third term meant the margin was still 27 points, before a 2.6 quarter to the home side was enough to seal the win.

Coach Brodie Holland was happy with the way his side started the game as well as their ability to steady the ship and kick away late in the game.

Jai Brinkkotter was a handful up forward booting four goals, while Rook Barry and Josh Eyre were both brilliant.

Despite going down Aaron Britten had one of his best games for the year, while Kwame McHarg and Mark Galea both continued their strong seasons.

Marby will be looking to make it two in a row when it hosts Greenvale, while Deer Park will square off with Aberfeldie at John McLeod Reserve.

ESSENDON DOUTTA STARS 10.11 (71) def. KEILOR 1.1 (7)
MATCH CENTRE

In what eventuated as one of the most unique games of local football ever witnessed due to severe fog, Essendon Doutta Stars took control over Keilor by 64 points in Friday night football.

It was a strong start by the Stars who dominated play, winning the footy into their attacking half of the ground for most of the contest.

Jessie Hulett opened the home side’s attack on the scoreboard with an early snap in front of the big sticks.

She was one of four Stars to secure one, with Zoe Attard, Isabelle Porter (who was named the Doutta Galla Hotel Player of the Match), and Madison Spring-Brown all doing so after passages of fast Douttas play.

Keilor struggled to wriggle its way into the contest early but grew stronger and more confident as the match went on.

The Blues’ resilience was highlighted by a goal late in the third term, kicked by Sarah Ingram who courageously snapped the kick out of a ball up, to be accompanied by joyous celebrations from her teammates and supporters around the ground.

She was named as one of the Blues’ best alongside Maddison Cotten, Tahlia Psaila, and Laura Wright, who all displayed good performances.

In what was a big win for the Stars, it was also a big night for Stephanie Mitchell and Polly Conway, with the duo kicking a respective four and two majors in spectacular displays.

Perhaps the most memorable aspect of the night took place in the fourth quarter when thick fog rolled in across the ground, in what would certainly be a first in EDFL women’s football.

The unprecedented conditions decayed visibility so much, the entire ground could not be seen as the final siren drew near. A night that everyone in attendance will never forget.

After next weekend’s competition bye, the Stars will travel to meet Caroline Springs, while Keilor will host Strathmore at Joe Brown Oval.

Aberfeldie has proven it is no team to be taken lightly, with the Two Blues dominating Saturday’s contest against Moonee Valley at Aberfeldie Park.

Winning by 97 points, the result sees Aberfeldie amass a percentage boost, strengthening its grip on top spot.

Moana Hope had a season-best outing with six majors and was a big player on the scoresheet along with Chloe Rafferty (five), and Emily Smith (three).

Lara Churchill also worked her way onto the scoreboard with a major in the third term.

Hope and Rafferty were named at the top of the best-on list for Aberfeldie, with Maddy Hall and Tahni Nestor also having a good afternoon.

While Moonee Valley suffered its heaviest defeat of the season, the Fog found some lift in the final term with a goal from captain Nadia Valenti.

Siena Rumoro, Michaela Chalhoub, and Olivia Marsland were named as some of Moonee Valley’s best.

After the competition bye, the Fog will return home to face Maribyrnong Park.

STRATHMORE 10.7 (67) def. CAROLINE SPRINGS 2.8 (20)
MATCH CENTRE

Strathmore has continued its impeccable form with a 47-point win over Caroline Springs at Boeing Reserve.

In what was a match between two of the competition’s best sides played in picturesque conditions, the Mores put the league on notice, downing the Lakers who had previously beaten them in Round 2.

While both outfits took to the field to play a fast and physical game of footy, Strathmore was more efficient in ball movement, disposal efficiency, and making the most of opportunities.

Eloise Egglestone had another stunning match for the Mores and was all over the ball wherever you looked, earning a tenth best-on naming.

Talia Motta also had a season-best display with five majors kicked in stunning fashion.

Milla Murphy also contributed three goals to the scoreboard, with Maeve Langston and Flavia Rajapakse also adding a major of their own.

The Mores looked like a side poised for finals, something their 8-2 record sets them up well for.

After a rough start, Caroline Springs started to ignite in the second term, leading to the scoring of its two goals from Ebony Stevens, a key player across the board for the Lakers.

Throughout the game, the Lakers displayed qualities of a finals-hungry side, with some strong skill in end-to-end footy and stringing together momentous passages of play.

Jordin Williamson had a stellar day in the ruck, winning contest after contest, and was named as one of the Lakers best.

She was joined by Caitlyn Volpe and Nikki Perrett, who both also looked good throughout the afternoon.

The Lakers will be hoping to get a win back when they return home to face Essendon Doutta Stars in Round 12.

Strathmore will look for a sixth-straight win when it meets with Keilor at Joe Brown Oval.

MATCH CENTRE

Oak Park has surged to third spot on the ladder after it took care of Hillside by 86 points at JP Fawkner Reserve in the grand final rematch.

AVONDALE HEIGHTS 8.7 (55) def. by OAK PARK 15.10 (100)
MATCH CENTRE

Oak Park recorded an impressive 45-point victory over Avondale Heights after exploding with a powerful fourth quarter performance.

It’s the Roos' ninth win for the season as they look to attach the second half of 2026.

A see-sawing opening half saw the Roos take a slim two-point lead into the first break in play, before the hosts bit back to take a six-point lead into half time.

The third quarter was another tight duel between these two sides, with both testing each other trading blows in front of goal.

With the Roos taking just a five-point lead into the fourth quarter, Avondale were ultimately unable to answer the challenge as Oak Park switched into overdrive and produced a dynamic seven-goal-to-one final quarter.

With goals sailing through the sticks like dynamite in the last quarter, Oak Park will no doubt be brimming with confidence after their response in the final term.

Reigning Hutchison Medallist Jedd Taylor was back to his brilliant best with an emphatic best-on-ground performance, while Archie Payne and Kane O’Halloran both snagged three goals each.

For the Heights, Brad Robb produced another excellent three-goal performance, but it ultimately wasn’t enough.

Oak Park will look to keep stacking the wins when it hosts Tullamarine next Sunday afternoon, while Avondale Heights will be looking to bounce back when hosting St Albans.

TULLAMARINE 5.8 (38) def. by WEST COBURG 11.15 (81)
MATCH CENTRE

West Coburg flexed their muscles with a comprehensive road win over Tullamarine by 43 points.

Nine scoring shots to one in the opening quarter had warning signs written all over it for the Dees, with the Burgers firing out of the blocks in sizzling fashion.

The Burgers had the yips in front of goal however, and this kept the door ajar for Tullamarine which only trailed by eight points at the main break in play.

Despite their lack of conversion in the first half, the Burgers clicked into gear to record eight goals to two in the second half and run away as 43-point winners.

Despite collecting the four points, the Burgers will need to capitalise better on their chances in front of goal when the big finals come around.

Ibby Taha added to his good season with another bag of four goals, while captain Emilio Rinoudo starred yet again.

It gets no easier for Tullamarine next Sunday afternoon when it faces Oak Park, while West Coburg will return to Shore Reserve for their bout with Rupertswood.

MOONEE VALLEY 16.15 (111) def. TAYLORS LAKES 10.4 (64)
MATCH CENTRE

Moonee Valley kept their brilliant season rolling with a comfortable 47-point win over Taylors Lakes at Ormond Park.

The Valley appeared to be clicking early as they dominated the contest at the source and with inside 50 entries.

Eighteen scoring shots in their favour to only four from the Lions at half time cast an ominous light over Ormond Park, with the hosts having the game completely on their terms to take a 39-point lead into half time.

Much was the same in the second half, but the hosts better capitalised on their insides 50s with 8.5 in the second half, as opposed to 8.10 in the opening two periods.

With a handful of players hitting the scoreboard, it was a complete team performance from a side really hitting their straps.

Moonee Valley will host Craigieburn next week in a blockbuster clash at Ormond Park, while Taylors Lakes will host East Keilor.

RUPERTSWOOD 12.4 (76) def. by CRAIGIEBURN 11.13 (79)
MATCH CENTRE

Craigieburn escaped from Salesian College with a pivotal road win after hanging on to clinch victory by three points over Rupertswood.

With the top four on the ladder only separated by a singular game, the Eagles simply cannot afford to drop any winnable games as they attack the second half of the season.

In a game of momentum swings, it was the Eagles who found the winning post in the end to claim their ninth win of the season.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing though as the hosts flew out the gates early to take a three-goal lead into the first break.

With their tails up, Rupo played an excellent brand of footy in which they would have no doubt been striving for throughout the season thus far.

They held onto their buffer by a small margin as the lead was cut down to just eight points come half time.

A thrilling second half was in store for onlookers, and with the game in the balance, the two sides could hardly be separated as they went toe-to-toe.

Craigieburn found some minor breathing room in the final quarter but had to earn every inch of victory with Rupo making a final late charge.

In the end, the Eagles clung to victory and escaped from Salesian College with a crucial four points.

Young gun Harry Albon was back to his scintillating best with two majors and plenty of the football, while Brodie White was also a strong contributor.

For Rupo, Joel Flanigan had a day out with a bag of five goals, but this ultimately wasn’t enough to get his side over the line.

Craigieburn travels to Ormond Park next week for their mouth-watering clash with Moonee Valley, while Rupertswood will have it all to do against West Coburg.

EAST KEILOR 7.12 (54) def. by ST ALBANS 18.17 (125)
MATCH CENTRE

St Albans banked its third win of the season with a dominant 71-point victory over East Keilor at Overland Reserve.

In a comfortable put-away, the Saints were far too good for the tiring East Keilor who remain winless down the bottom of the ladder.

After a relatively competitive opening half which saw the Saints take a mere 19-point lead into half time, the guests clicked into gear to outscore the Cougars by nine goals in the second half.

With a 40-point lead at three-quarter time, the Saints put the foot down in the final term to clear away for a cruisy 12-goal win.

It’s an important win for the Saints as it keeps their season alive.

Currently three games outside of fifth position, the Saints certainly have the capabilities to make a late-season charge.

Mason Dipetta couldn’t have asked for a better return with six majors to his name to take his season tally to 19 goals from just the six games.

Alex Lancaster also stuffed the stat sheet with four majors of his own.

East Keilor hits the road next week for its clash with Taylors Lakes, while St Albans will look to record back-to-back wins when it faces Avondale Heights.
