GREENVALE 4.13 (37) def. by ESSENDON DOUTTA STARS 12.7 (79)
MATCH CENTRE

Essendon Doutta Stars has climbed into fourth spot on the ladder, defeating Greenvale by 42 points at Section Road.

Saturday’s victory is the Stars’ fifth win from their last six matches and now moves them above Aberfeldie.

Meanwhile the Jets are still searching for their second win for the year and remain a game behind Airport West in last spot.

Coach Barry Prendergast was really pleased with his side’s intensity and pressure for four quarters and their ability to stick to the plan for the entire game.

After a low-scoring first quarter, Douttas managed to gain the ascendency with two majors before kicking another three in the second quarter to extend the margin to 19 points.

It was more of the same after the break with the visitors booting another three quarter in the third quarter and finished it off with another four goals to seal a comfortable victory.

Josh Robertson was the star of the show booting a season-high four goals, while Daniel Romero and Mitchell Kalpakis continued their strong seasons.

Liam Podhajski was very good in the ruck once again for the Jets, while Jayden Ranno and Matt Stillman continued to lead from the front.

Douttas will be back at home next week to host Maribyrnong Park, while Greenvale will gear up for a massive clash with Hillside at Section Road.

AIRPORT WEST 9.8 (62) def. by PASCOE VALE 21.16 (142)
MATCH CENTRE

Pascoe Vale has flexed its muscles once again, defeating Airport West by 80 points at Hansen Reserve.

The win maintains the Panthers one-game buffer on third spot while also closing the gap to neighbours Strathmore to eight points.

Saturday’s performance was another disappointing result for the Eagles who have now slipped to ninth after their seventh loss for the year.

The game was in the balance early with both teams managing two majors in the first quarter, before Pascoe Vale turned up the intensity and booted 10 goals in the second quarter.

In need of a spirited fightback to try and get themselves back in the game, Airport West couldn’t respond with Pascoe Vale kicking nine second-half goals to run away with the win.

Pascoe Vale coach Daniel Harris said, "Our focus was on winning the contest, knowing that if we could gain territory and create repeat opportunities, we would generate enough scoring chances.

"The players executed this well and were able to maintain pressure throughout the day.

"A major highlight was our defensive intent and work rate, finishing with more than 100 tackles for the game.

"It was a reflection of the effort, discipline, and commitment our players showed from the first bounce to the final siren."

Lachlan Fazzolari and Tyson Scoble did the damage on the scoreboard with four goals each, while Noah Hijazi was excellent again.

Cooper Janevski continued his strong goal kicking form with another three goals, while Corey Barbaro and Ronald Hackney showed promising signs.

Airport West will face another tough test when it squares off with Aberfeldie at Hansen Reserve, while Pascoe Vale will meet with Keilor at Raeburn Reserve.

MARIBYRNONG PARK 8.18 (66) def. by HILLSIDE 10.7 (67)
MATCH CENTRE

Hillside has picked up a crucial victory, defeating Maribyrnong Park by one point at Monk Oval.

Saturday’s win was another thrilling victory for the Sharks who have now recorded three wins for the year by the solitary point.

After such a strong start to the year, Marby have now lost five in a row and have slipped to sixth and are a game and percentage out of the top five.

Coach Mo Kaakour said, “I thought our ability to bring the heat early and apply frontal pressure for long periods of the game was the catalyst for a really good outcome.

"We were able to play the game in our front half for a lot of that first half and were able to connect with our forwards really well which enabled us to apply some scoreboard pressure.”

The Sharks brought their best right from the start, kicking four goals in the first quarter and went into the break with an 11-point lead.

The lead was extended to 35 points at half time with another five goals, while Marby was left to rue plenty of missed opportunities in front of goal after a 1.4 quarter.

With the rain setting in, Marby began to claw their way back, however they were still down by 17 points after another 2.7 quarter.

The Lions came with a rush again the final term, however a three-goal-to-one final term wasn’t enough as when the siren sounded, Hillside had claimed a one-point victory.

Robbie Castello was excellent against his old side booting two goals, while Nick Fluke and Atu Bosenavulagi continued their strong seasons.

Max Griffin had one of his best games for the year kicking two goals, while Alex Barba and Scott Clarke did all they could.

Hillside will be searching for consecutive wins for the first time in Premier Division when it meets with Greenvale, while Marby will take on Douttas at Nipper Jordan Oval.

KEILOR 19.12 (126) def. DEER PARK 10.9 (69)
MATCH CENTRE

Keilor has made it five wins in a row defeating Deer Park by 57 points at Joe Brown Oval.

The win maintains the Blues' grip on third spot and keeps them in touch with Pascoe Vale in second spot.

After showing plenty of positive signs against Airport West two weeks ago, the Lions failed to back it up and paid the price.

Coach Mick McGuane was rapt with his side’s ability to adjust to the conditions in the second half, especially their execution going inside 50.

Both sides had no trouble finding the goals in the first quarter with Deer Park managing 5.4 and Keilor booting 6.1 to open up a three-point lead.

The arm wrestle continued in the second quarter, however Keilor still had their noses in front by six points after each side booted three majors.

Keilor managed to kick clear in the third quarter with five majors and backed it up with a further five in the final term which sealed a comprehensive victory.

Chris Kosmas continued his fine form with another four goals, while Jack Brown and Cody Brand chimed in with three goals each.

Despite going down Anthony Anastasio was very good again, while Aaron Britten and Mark Galea fought hard all day.

Keilor will be a chance to climb into second spot when it meets with Pascoe Vale at Raeburn Reserve, while Deer Park will host Strathmore.

CAROLINE SPRINGS 6.11 (47) def. HILLSIDE 4.2 (26)
MATCH CENTRE

Caroline Springs is back on the winner's list following a 21-point victory over Hillside at home.

With both sides bringing a plethora of standouts into selection including the likes of Caroline Springs’ Jacinta Kondis and the Sharks’ Caitlin Sargent and Krissy Trang, this match was building with an opportunity to swing either way.

But it was the Lakers who stood tall with an unopposed 2.4 (16) first term adding enough fuel to the fire to send them over the line.

Hillside clawed its way back into the match with a three-goal second half, but it wasn’t enough to ultimately steer the trajectory of the contest.

Kondis was one of the Lakers’ key players on her return to the football field and boasted two goals.

Sharni Currie, Jessica Francke, Charlize Sindoni, and Kyla Tracey all scored one for Caroline Springs, with Charlotte Gerada named the side’s best-on.

It was double trouble for Hillside, with Emily Paterno and co-captain Kiara Rigg both scoring twice.

Brooke Kerrigan was named the Sharks’ best alongside Paterno and Jayde Bowler.

Next weekend will see a homecoming clash against Strathmore for the Sharks, while it’ll be a trip to Joe Brown Oval for Caroline Springs, in a meeting with Keilor on the cards.

KEILOR 2.5 (17) def. by OAK PARK 9.9 (63)
MATCH CENTRE

Oak Park has picked up its fifth-straight win in a 46-point victory over Keilor at Green Gully Reserve.

In a match where some of the best shone and old faces returned, both sides gave it their all in this one.

Keilor star duo Emilly and Kaitlyn O’Keefe were named as some of the Blues’ best in the pair’s first EDFL appearance since Round 4, with Kaitlyn scoring one of the side’s goals.

Both of the Blue’s goals came in the last quarter, sending Keilor to win the final term 2.2 (14) to 1.2 (9), with the other coming off the boot of Olivia Lacy, who found her first Premier Division goal since 2024.

Maddison Cotten and Laura Wright were again some of the Blues' best in the contest.

But despite the strong revival from Keilor, it was Oak Park who prevailed, with six goal scorers paving the way for victory.

Tayah Kelly scored three goals for the Roos, adding to the contributions of Brittney Gray, Sasha Nelson, Emily Taylor, and Charli Williams.

And in her second EDFL appearance since 2017, Sarah Dargan made a splash with two goals.

Oak Park will hope it can keep the momentum rolling beyond next weekend’s bye, with the Roos set to clash with Hillside in Round 11.

Keilor will return to Joe Brown Oval to challenge Caroline Springs on Saturday.

ESSENDON DOUTTA STARS 5.7 (37) def. ABERFELDIE 3.2 (20)
MATCH CENTRE

Essendon Doutta Stars has made a statement after it took control of Aberfeldie, running away with a 17-point win at Nipper Jordan Oval.

Played amidst classic winter conditions of wind and rain, both sides went head-to-head in a well-fought battle.

Mia Tully returned to the goal sheet following a quiet two weeks with three goals to boast.

Jade Cilia and Manaia Huta both found the big sticks, setting the Stars up for a massive upset win over the ladder leaders, with strong efforts on display from Isabelle Porter, Casee Gazelle, and Ada Pizzinga.

And while Aberfeldie was kept away from the action on the scoreboard, the Two Blues played a fast and physical match trying to faze Douttas but were ultimately challenged among the wet and wild weather.

Meg Ginnivan, Ashleigh Gunn, and Chloe Rafferty (who made her first EDFL appearance in 2026) were the Rillas’ goalscorers.

Jasmine Ferbrache, Hammah Brodie, and Amelia Wright were named as some of the visitors' best, while Olivia Madden and Jess Duffin were also key contributors.

Aberfeldie will look to sing the song next weekend when it welcomes Maribyrnong Park to Clifton Park.

Essendon Doutta Stars will meet with Moonee Valley at Ormond Park.

MARIBYRNONG PARK 7.6 (48) def. MOONEE VALEY 3.8 (26)
MATCH CENTRE

Maribyrnong Park has sung the song once more, shining at home in a 22-point win over Moonee Valley.

With both sides enduring a challenging first half of the season, the Lions and the Fog were looking to put the past behind them and pick up a win in this game.

It was the Lions who made the most of the opportunity and have now picked up a third win in 2026.

Marby was strong in the opening half of the contest, taking a 6.5 (41) to 0.5 (5) lead into the major break.

Chloe Healy finished the day with three goals, with Tegan Matthews following closely behind with two. Elise Korteman and Ava Steel both found one.

Maribyrnong Park young-gun Dimi Papadopoulos had another afternoon to remember and was named the Lions’ best.

CRAIGIEBURN 15.13 (103) def. ST ALBANS 12.12 (84)
MATCH CENTRE

Craigieburn produced an exceptional come-from-behind performance to overrun St Albans by 19 points in a thriller.

The win sees that the Eagles hold firm in fourth position on the ladder, three games and percentage inside the top five.

However, the four points collected here were far from convincing.

St Albans fired out of the blocks with five first-quarter goals to the Eagles' one, and appeared up for the challenge as they maintained a 14-point buffer at halftime

Another winning quarter from the Saints saw the lead extended to 19 points at three-quarter time.

Yet despite their uncharacteristically subpar first three quarters, the Eagles lifted when it mattered most to overcome a brave Saints outfit.

Craigieburn kicked seven final-quarter goals to the Saints' one to protect home and bank another four points.

Rising star Hayden Polley was impactful again with three important goals, while Zac Hansch was adjudged as their best.

For the Saints, Alex Tsia returned to form with three goals to his name, while Finn Urie also put in an excellent shift.

Craigieburn will remain at home next week when it hosts Tullamarine, while St Albans is also at home for its clash against Moonee Valley.

TAYLORS LAKES 4.6 (30) def. by OAK PARK 25.18 (168)
MATCH CENTRE

Oak Park was dominant in a thumping 138-point win over Taylors Lakes.

After tasting defeat to Moonee Valley two rounds ago, the Roos have produced back-to-back 100+ point victories in brilliant style.

This bout was no exception as the Roos dominated from start to finish to record their seventh win of the season.

Ten scoring shots to two in the opening quarter had the Roos licking their lips, and with no genuine fight coming back from Taylors Lakes, the game appeared to be over quickly.

The Roos took a commanding 52-point lead into halftime.

Any hopes of a Taylors Lakes resurgence were quickly put to bed after a 14-goal-to-one second half from the Roos.

Kane O’Halloran feasted on the lack of attention he was receiving with a sensational eight goals to his name, while Archie Payne also hit the scoreboard in a big way with four majors.

Oak Park will host Rupertswood next week, while it gets no easier for Taylors Lakes which hits the road to take on West Coburg.

MATCH CENTRE

Moonee Valley has impressed again with another scintillating performance, this week coming via a 31-point win over Avondale Heights.

The win makes it three victories in a row for the Valley who are enjoying a stellar season thus far.

They were made to earn these four points though against an Avondale Heights outfit which is still trying to recapture its best form.

Avondale started off the better side with conversion in front of goal proving to be a factor early in the game.

After trailing at quarter-time by nine points, the Valley fought back hard to claim the lead and hold a two-goal lead going into the second half.

The gears began to churn for Moonee Valley in the third term, and while the Heights stayed on gamely, they ultimately fell shot as the Valley kicked clear with a five-goal win.

Mitch Clarke and Zayas Leonedas were both critical in the win, with the two forwards each kicking three goals and applying significant scoreboard pressure onto Avondale.

For the Heights, Daniel Taberner booted through three majors and Blake Cochrane battled all day.

Moonee Valley will travel to Kings Park reserve next week to take on St Albans, while Avondale Heights will look to bounce back against East Keilor.

RUPERTSWOOD 7.7 (49) def. by TULLAMARINE 15.12 (102)
MATCH CENTRE

Tullamarine disposed of Rupertswood comfortably by 53 points and remain inside the top five with an important win.

The Dees looked to be rolling early with 10 scoring shots to three in the opening term to take a 27-point lead into quarter-time.

It was much of the same in the second quarter with the Dees piling on the pressure, but they couldn’t finish their work on the scoreboard after some inaccurate conversion.

Eighteen first-half shots on goal produced just the nine goals, and this kept the door ajar for Rupertwsood.

Rupo fought back in the third term to win the quarter and rein the margin back into 33 points at the final break in play.

Yet this was as close as they came.

Tullamarine steadied and took control of the contest to claim victory in what was an important road win for their season.

Prized recruit Josh Covelli made his return and had a day out logging a haul of seven goals, while Zak Wunhym was sensational.

On the other side of the ledger, Fraser Phelan-Smith chipped in with two majors for Rupertswood in a day consistent of limited opportunities.

Tulla will travel to DS Aitken Reserve next week for their intriguing clash with Craigieburn, while Rupertswood will face Oak Park.
