EDFL Staff Changes For Season 2021

New Roles Confirmed

THE EDFL has welcomed two new staff members as we get set to embark on a massive 2021 season.

Ben McGee (Manager - Junior Football & Corporate Partnerships) has taken up a newly created dual role which will cover both the Football Operations and Corporate Departments, while Michael Willcox has joined the team as Umpires Coordinator.

In Football Operations, McGee will be working closely alongside Pauline Leslie (Manager - Senior Football & Netball) and Ken Waters (Football Operations Assistant), while also handling the League’s Corporate Partnerships portfolio.

“Ben has come to us with a wealth of experience in both local football and the corporate sector and has a lot to offer as part of the EDFL,” League CEO Ian Kyte told essendondfl.com.au.

“He officially joined our team in late 2020 and has already made a significant impact, particularly as we look to expand our Corporate Partnerships footprint within our community.”

Following the departure of Rowan Sawers in 2020, the Umpires Department will now be headed up by Patrick Moloney (Umpires Administration Officer) and Michael Willcox (Umpires Coordinator).

“We’re thrilled to have Michael join Patrick in our Umpires Department,” Kyte said.

“We’ve had Patrick onboard since the start of the 2019 and to now have Michael working alongside him is a major boost for our umpires.”

Umpire coaching appointments have not yet been finalised.

Along with Rowan Sawers, the League also bid farewell to Football Operations Officer, Taylah Morris during 2020.

“Taylah did a terrific job in her three years with us and I wish her all the very best for the future,” Kyte said.

The roles that remain unchanged are Ian Kyte (Chief Executive Officer), Adem Saricaoglu (Media Manager), Greta May and Chantelle Raniolo (Corporate Services Managers).
