Presented by Strathmore Community Bank | By Joseph Ibic

Aberfeldie will take on Pascoe Vale at Clifton Park to kick off Round 4 action.

Both teams head into this clash undefeated in what looms as a potential game of the round.

Aberfeldie won an ANZAC Day thriller against Avondale Heights last week which was largely due to their accuracy in front of goal and ability to win the key moments in the game.

Their star recruit Ben Ronke kicked four goals and Pascoe Vale will be looking nullify his influence this weekend.

The Panthers are coming off a 27-point win over Deer Park.

Pascoe Vale were actually down by three points going into the final term, but showed great resilience that allowed them to stage a 30-point turnaround.

They found many different avenues to goal having nine goalkickers - something they will be hoping to use to their advantage again this weekend.

Greenvale will have a massive test this weekend against a rampant Keilor side at Greenvale Recreation Reserve.

Greenvale are coming off an absolute nailbiter against East Keilor last round, where they won a high scoring game by a single point.

The Jets conceded 17 goals last weekend and defence may again prove a struggle this week against the best team in the competition for the last 12 months.

Keilor are once again having a dominant season, with the reigning premiers unbeaten so far and will be fresh off the bye.

The Jets have built nicely after a disappointing Round 1 result and will be looking to bring their best to test the Blues.

Airport West face off against Deer Park in a bottom of the table clash at Hansen Reserve.

Both teams will be desperate to record their first win of the season and get their year on track.

The Eagles lost convincingly to Essendon Doutta Stars last weekend with inaccuracy in front of goal once again killing them.

Airport West recorded almost double the behinds in comparison to goals and had a heavy reliance on their skipper Ned Gentile who scored three goals.

Deer Park will be left rueing the one that got away as they lost to Pascoe Vale by 27 points despite leading by three points at the final change.

Despite the loss, Deer Park will definitely take positives as they look to record their first EDFL Premier Division victory.

Essendon Doutta Stars come up against Strathmore at Nipper Jordan Oval this Saturday.

Essendon Doutta Stars are coming off a comfortable win and sitting in fifth place with two wins and a loss after three rounds as they look to attain some consistency in the top flight.

The Stars' forward Giacomo Thomas was impressive scoring six goals and will be looking to be a threat up forward again this weekend.

Strathmore will be looking to get their season moving in the right direction after suffering two early losses by 30+ points, albeit against the two best teams in the comp right now in Keilor and Pascoe Vale.

East Keilor are set to play Avondale Heights this weekend at Overland Reserve.

East Keilor fell heartbreakingly short of a first win of the season last week losing by a point to Greenvale.

Forward Lachlan Smart booted six goals and Nayef Hamad kicked four goals and will be two key players to watch for the Heights.

Avondale Heights also lost a close one, their game against Aberfeldie went down to the wire and led to a three-point loss.

Danko Bzenic was massive for Avondale Heights booting six goals and will be looking to do the same again in a victory this time round.

Maribyrnong Park take on St Albans in a second against third matchup at Monk Oval to kick off Division One action.

Marby Park are coming off a break last week and will be looking to continue their strong start to the season.

Their only loss so far was against last years Grand Finalists West Coburg in Round 1.

In all the games they’ve played, they’ve shown an incredible ability to create goalscoring opportunities, something they will be again looking to use to their advantage this week.

St Albans are coming off a 27-point loss to Craigieburn and will be looking to rebound against strong opposition this weekend.

The Saints were accurate in front of goal but just ran out of legs in the end.

Accuracy, however, will be something they will hope continues against Marby who are currently the best defensive side in the division.

Ruperstwood will face off against Oak Park at Salesian College.

Rupo are coming off a bye and will be looking to build on their win in Round 2 after the break.

It's been an interesting start to the season for Rupertswood who are trying to find where they place in this division, much like their opponents Oak Park.

The Kangaroos also didn’t play last weekend but have had a similar start to the season.

After they lost their first two games, they won their most recent game by 17 points.

This weekend’s game shapes as a massive test for both sides to see where they are at.

West Coburg take on Tullamarine at Shore Reserve this weekend.

West Coburg have had a strong start to the season so far only losing one game to the unbeaten Hillside by three points.

The Burgers will be looking to continue to build across the next few weeks as they aim to go one better in season 2024.

Tullamarine on the other hand have had a less explosive start to the season so far only playing two games for one win and a loss.

Tulla however, are coming off a massive win against Keilor Park in which they kicked 18 goals and will be hoping to carry that momentum into Saturday's match.

The undefeated Burnside Heights will face the winless East Sunbury at Burnside Heights Recreation Reserve.

Burnside recorded a big win in the context of their season last week defeating Coburg Districts by 13 points on ANZAC Day.

The game was close all day, but Burnside were able to come home strong demonstrating their potential of contesting in finals action.

East Sunbury are still searching for that elusive first win since re-joining the comp in 2023.

They were well and truly beaten last week and will be hoping there is no repeat this week.

A better defensive effort is needed to stop another smashing against this unbeaten Bears outfit.

Sunbury Kangaroos will face Coburg Districts at Eric Boardman Reserve on Saturday.

Sunbury Kangaroos have started the 2024 season well and have so far shown great scoring ability and an ability to run out games strongly.

Coburg Districts will feel this is a must-win clash if they are to prove to themselves they can execute against top sides.

Their two losses so far have been close games and they will love to add another win to their tally.

Taylors Lakes will battle it out with Glenroy at Lionheart Reserve.

Taylors Lakes are still undefeated after thrashing East Sunbury last week, as Ben Weightman booted six goals and Raafat Rachrache scored five.

Offence has been the Lions' strength so far this season averaging 118 points for per game.

Glenroy are winless after two games so far this season and will be hoping this is finally the week to record that.

While Glenroy go into the match as underdogs, they will be hoping to catch Taylors Lakes off guard as the Lakers will no doubt be expecting a relatively comfortable win.

Westmeadows will play Northen Saints at Willowbrook Reserve on Saturday.

The Tigers are currently top of the table and unbeaten after three games and will look to continue that run against the Northern Saints.

Westy have shown an ability to blow games out with fervent offence, while also being stringent in defence.

The Saints on the other hand haven’t put a win on the board yet despite strong showings in their first two matches against Coburg Districts and Burnside Heights.

Despite facing another tough opponent this week, Northern Saints will feel they need to start winning soon or the pressure of a winless start will begin to build.
