MORES INTO THE DECIDER

Strathmore are into a second consecutive Grand Final after yet another dominant finals display in their 52-point triumph over Pascoe Vale.

It was an even start to the game with the Panthers capitalising on their wind advantage, but the Mores were able make the most of their opportunities and keep the scores level at quarter time.

Strathmore started to run over the top of the Panthers in the second quarter kicking seven goals to two and never looked back from there.

The bigger bodies of Pascoe Vale couldn’t keep up with the speed around the ground of the Mores and were no doubt carrying some sore and injured players.

Despite the straight-sets exit, Pascoe Vale can hold their heads high on a great season that saw them sitting second for the best part of 2023.

The Mores enjoyed a complete team performance with Tom Condon leading the way with four goals, while Andrew Vavra kicked three goals for the first time since 2017 when he was running out for Westmeadows.

This coming weekend will be the first time since 2014 that a team outside the top two will play in the Premier Division Grand Final with Aberfeldie last achieving that feat, and it will be the first time since 1998 that the Mores have met Keilor in the decider.

Strathmore were victorious on that day and ended Keilor’s dream of a four-peat, can they end their undefeated run this weekend?
