The Essendon District Football League is delighted to welcome the Deer Park and St Albans Football Clubs as the League's two newest clubs.
AFL Victoria confirmed the outcome to the EDFL following a final appeal hearing with the WRFL earlier this week.
The EDFL now boasts 37 affiliated clubs with 31 senior men's teams set to compete in the 2023 competition.
"We're pleased to welcome Deer Park and St Albans Football Clubs, whose entries into our competition will be very welcome additions for season 2023 and beyond," League Chairman Bernie Shinners said.
"Given the calibre of these clubs, our competition will be significantly strengthened and enriched and we look forward to embracing both as member clubs of the EDFL."
Deer Park and St Albans will be admitted into the Rookie Me Division One men's competition in season 2023, with the division set to comprise 12 teams.
Further details surrounding the admission of Deer Park and St Albans, as well as the Rookie Me Division One season fixture, will be finalised and communicated in due course.
