Airport Toyota Women’s Weekend Outlook - Thursday June 29, 2023

Presented by Airport Toyota

Keilor and Moonee Valley will square off at Green Gully Reserve in a game that could start to shape the top four.

The Fog have six wins and sit third while Keilor has five wins and sit fourth, so while neither result could have an impact in the first game of finals, it’ll go well to ensure they remain in the four.

Hot on both of their heels are Maribyrnong Park who will face a tough task to squeeze into the top four when they play the undefeated Aberfeldie.

If they were to get up, they should be able to sneak into fourth place, but Aberfeldie have shown it won’t be easy with their last meeting a 21-point win for the Two Blues (16 scoring shots to five).

Westmeadows and Oak Park will face off for the second time this season, their first meeting going the way of the Kangaroos.

They won by 34 points and kept Westmeadows to just two points for the game.

Sam German was among the best for Oak Park that day with three goals.

In the final game, Hillside will play a twilight fixture against Strathmore at Shark Park.

It’s a chance for both sides to get back on the winner’s list with Strathmore wanting to avoid relegation, and Hillside wanting separation in the event Strathmore are able to secure another win.

Hillside’s first win of the season came in this matchup in Round 4.

Essendon Doutta Stars will host Tullamarine at Buckley Park as they have a chance at breaking into second place.

They’ll have this chance with Greenvale playing Burnside Heights, a massive 1st v 2nd clash.

Greenvale have been just about unbeatable this season and with the Bears just one win ahead of Douttas, it could mean they give up their position.

The last time the Jets and Bears met, Greenvale won by six goals with Nicolette Paschalis kicking three.

Aberfeldie 2 will play host to Sunbury Kangaroos at Aberfeldie Park West as they look to maintain their position in the top two.

The Kangaroos have had some strong performances since their move into Division Two and haven’t played Abers this season.

Abers have Coburg Districts hot on their heels for that second spot but they’ll face Airport West who have looked just about unbeatable in 2023.

It was a comfortable victory for the Eagles last time out against the Lions, winning by 97 points.

It doesn’t stop there with Moonee Valley 2 also looking to work into second place with a win over Maribyrnong Park 2.

The Fog took care of business comfortably last time these two sides met as they kept Marby scoreless on their way to an 84-point victory.

In the final game, Pascoe Vale will travel to Willowbrook Reserve to face Westmeadows 2.

Westy will be aiming to climb off the bottom of the ladder, while Pacco will have a chance to move one spot up the ladder pending results.
